Itinerary
You will be met at the airport or your hotel in Nairobi at 0700hrs and drive in a northern direction. You will be driven through tea and coffee estates on your way to Sweetwaters Conservancy. Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its magnificent ranch where this movie unveils was once owned by handsome multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi. This splendid sanctuary for chimpanzees, created by the Jane Goodall organization for the primates that have been left without a home, we also meet the black rhinos: about forty of them have been filed in a specially protected and fenced area. Indeed, what sets Sweetwaters apart is that it hosts the highest density of game per acre than any other park or reserve in Kenya. Still, the Sanctuary has several private waterholes and salt licks to make sure that we will be able to observe them at very close range. Whether you prefer daytime or night-time game drives, Camel treks, tracking the lion, eating under the stars or simply lounging by the pool, Sweetwaters will not disappoint.

FAQs
The best time for this five days trip to Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, and Masai Mara Kenya is during the dry season, between June and October, or between January and February. These months offer the best wildlife seeing opportunities because many animals congregate around water points and the undergrowth is not as thick as in other months. July to October marks the great migration in Masai Mara and this is specifically a good time for the river crossings and the action at the predators. The dry season, which runs from June through October, is rather dry, and hot, while the rainy season, from November to May, is green, not as crowded and ideal for bird watching with Lake Nakuru standing out in this season.
On this safari, you will be able to see various types of animals and birds in three different biomes. Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a leading conservancy in rhinoceros conservation and the home to the only two remaining natural northern white rhinos, homers, black and southern white inland. You will also be privileged to witness elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs and the African wild dogs that are scarce but exist in the park. The park hosts a large population of flamingos, black and white rhinos, and rare Rothschild’s giraffes and the park has diverse bird species. Visiting Masai Mara, you can encounter traditional African savannah, and with some luck, meet the representatives of the Big Five which include lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, and rhino, as well as numerous herds of wildebeest and zebras, spotted hyenas, crocodiles and hippos.

Taking the car from Nairobi to Ol Pejeta, the trip takes between 3.5 to 4 hours through good tarmac road. The distance from Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru is about 190km and will take a driver about 4 to 5 hours to cover the distance, passing through stunning views and through some small rural towns. The distance from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara is about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and the last part that leads into the reserve is a very harsh off-road especially during the rainy season.
