This park is indeed gifted with the big five animals which include lions, Leopards, Elephants, Buffaloes, and Rhinos besides other animals such as Cheetahs, Giraffes, Zebras among others. If you happen to be here in the month of July to October you stand a chance of coming across a natural spectacle called the migration where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River.
Flamingoes throng this lake in large numbers and when they line the shores of the lake in large flocks, the pink hue they form is a spectacle to behold. This is also the best place to witness white and black rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes and many birds as well.
Acacia diaxylum is famous for the huge elephants groups and beautiful scenery of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is a good place to visit for tourists and one can get a chance to see lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras and different bird species.
The ideal time to go for this safari is during the dry seasons which are from June to October and from January to February as animals are most easily spotted during the dry season. They indicate that animals concentrate at watering points making it easy for hunters to easily identify them. The spectacle of the Great Migration Within the Maasai Mara takes place from July to October. However, the wildlife spotting opportunities are so good in both Lake Nakuru and Amboseli that this safari can be recommended for any time of the year.
The safari entails the use of lodges and tented camps that add an element of luxury to the adventure as well as the interaction with the environment. Accommodation in Maasai Mara is mostly in lodge or luxury tented camps with a stunning view of the landscapes. At Lake Nakuru, most of the tourist accommodations can be found close to the park such that tourists can easily and quickly access the lake and wildlife. During the game drive in Amboseli, you will get a good view of Mount Kilimanjaro, especially from your lodge or camp. All the accommodations are self-contained, offer delicious meals and have a high standard of service.
The 6-Day Earthwings Classic Safari covers several national parks with daily, early morning or afternoon game drives for optimal wildlife observation. In the morning and the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the Maasai Mara which is more productive when it comes to viewing the wildlife. On your trip to Lake Nakuru, you will be taken on a circumference around the lake with a break to view the flamingoes and the rhinos. Game drives will afford excellent views of the large herds of elephants and Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli. Other extra attractions like the Maasai village thrill and the hot air balloon trips over the Maasai Mara will cost the client additionally.
Bring comfortable, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing to avoid standing out in the wild environment. You should carry along a hat, sunglasses, sunblock as well as insect repellent. A good pair of binoculars as well as a camera with extra memories saves on time when taking wildlife photos. Items such as towels, bed sheets, and towels are usually provided but it is advised that guests carry toiletries and medicines with them. Mornings and evenings are relatively colder in Maasai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli; therefore, a warm coat or a sweater should be packed. Last but not the least, make sure that you have all the necessary traveling documents such as a passport, a visa (if needed) and insurance.
