FAQs
The Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour typically includes guided game drives inside Kruger National Park, accommodation (either in lodges, tents, or safari camps), transportation throughout the itinerary, and the full Panorama Route experience. The Panorama Route portion usually features iconic stops such as God’s Window, Blyde River Canyon, Lisbon Falls, and the Three Rondavels. Most packages also include park entry fees, daily breakfast, and some dinners, depending on the lodge. Always check the specific tour package to confirm what is covered.
The Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour often ranges from 3 to 5 days, though extended versions exist. Expect early-morning and late-afternoon game drives in Kruger, when wildlife is most active. Midday hours are usually spent relaxing at the lodge or transferring between destinations. The Panorama Route section is generally a full-day scenic road trip with viewpoints and waterfalls, offering a break from the safari environment and a chance to enjoy South Africa’s dramatic landscapes.
During the Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour, guests have the chance to see the famous Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo—along with cheetahs, wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. Kruger National Park is one of Africa’s richest wildlife areas, so sightings are common, though never guaranteed. Guided game drives improve your chances, as professional rangers know animal behaviour and the best viewing areas.
Yes, the Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour is family-friendly, but suitability depends on the specific lodge or operator. Some lodges have age restrictions on game drives (often 6 years and above), while others offer special family vehicles or kids’ nature programs. The Panorama Route day is usually easy and scenic, making it enjoyable for children. Families should confirm accommodation types, child policies, and vehicle seating before booking.
For the Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour, pack neutral-coloured clothing, comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket for early-morning drives, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, and sunglasses. Bring a camera or phone with storage for wildlife photos, plus binoculars for better viewing. Seasonal needs vary: winters (May–August) get cold at sunrise and sunset, while summers (November–March) are hot and may bring rain, so light rain gear is helpful.
The Kruger + Panorama Safari Tour is great year-round, but the best wildlife viewing is usually during the dry winter months (May–October), when animals gather at water sources and vegetation is thinner. The Panorama Route is particularly beautiful in summer when waterfalls are full and the landscape is lush. Your choice depends on whether you prefer prime game viewing or greener scenery—both seasons offer memorable experiences.
