This trip was incredible, and we felt truly cared for every step of the way.
Accommodation Visited
LUX* Le Morne
Very relaxing, with incredibly helpful staff. Mauritius was the perfect spot for the beach part of our trip, and LUX\* Le Morne was just as wonderful. We enjoyed a hike, swam with dolphins, and savored plenty of delicious food.
The Peech Boutique Hotel
A solid choice for a one-night stay in Johannesburg, with great food, wine, and reasonable prices. Our half-day tour wasn’t the most romantic experience. I really appreciated the Apartheid Museum, but the Soweto drive-by felt a bit long and wasn’t something I’d choose again. We tried to let our guide know we were ready to head back, but the drive lasted longer than we hoped.
Simbavati Hilltop Lodge
The staff here were absolutely exceptional. While the safari itself would have been incredible no matter where we stayed, it was the people at this lodge who made our entire experience feel personal and welcoming. The food was outstanding—likely the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. Having a dedicated staff member, Aubrey, looking after us each day was such a treat, and we felt truly well cared for throughout our stay. Our safari guide and tracker, Rudolph and Thabo, were fantastic and made the game drives truly unforgettable.
