Overall Rating:

Our honeymoon was absolutely spectacular. From the start, planning with Nicki promised something wonderful, but the trip far exceeded our expectations. We cherished every moment, and from the initial planning to our return home, Mahlatini truly impressed us at every step.

Zuri Zanzibar
“Zuri Zanzibar is a beautiful resort. The grounds are immaculate. Each room/bungalow/suite feels like it's in its own little jungle retreat giving each guest a sense of privacy and luxury. The white sandy beach is picturesque. What surprised us the most was the food - absolutely delicious. The seafood at the 2 main restaurants was delectable. And, we were very appreciative of the on-site Covid testing before our departing flight. The reason we only give 4 stars for this resort is largely because of the service. This resort still has a long way to go to match the 5-star quality of other resorts. In all honesty, this was quite disappointing. Many times we had to seek out or follow up with the beach staff for drinks or food, only to wait another 30 minutes for a glass of wine. Additionally, there was often confusion on orders or another long wait to sign for the bill (even though it was an all inclusive package). We sensed this frustration from other guests, as well. The staff were lovely but there's much room for improvement. Another reason is actually the dampness of our suite. While it was beautiful with modern amenities and cool decor, it was very damp and every single item of clothing smelled. It helped to keep the AC on (which the staff recommended too). Of course, we acknowledge this may come with the location of an island. We'd still recommend Zuri as it appears to be one of the best, if not the best, option on Zanzibar. However, keep in mind that the service will be on the slower side - I suppose, embrace the pace of island life ;)”
Elewana Serengeti Migration Camp
The Serengeti Migration Camp will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we hope to return very soon! We spent four nights and four days there during our honeymoon and couldn’t have asked for a more incredible team taking care of us. From the moment we arrived, we instantly connected with Steven, our driver and guide. His knowledge of the Serengeti, combined with his warmth, humor, and patience, made every game drive unforgettable. He knew exactly where and when to explore, going the extra mile—literally all 250 of them—to ensure we had the best experience, always with a bright smile, even after long days together. Hassan, our waiter and butler, was thoughtful, kind, and attentive in every way. From getting up at 3 a.m. to ensure we had coffee before our sunrise balloon ride, to packing our favorite wine for lunch, teaching us Swahili, and surprising us with a farewell cake, his attention to detail made us feel truly cared for. Chef Massoud also deserves a special mention—every meal was fantastic, and it was such a joy to be greeted by him each evening. For more than half of our stay, we were the only guests at the camp, which made the experience even more personal and special. We were lucky to have a tent right by the river, waking up to hippos and watching elephants stop by for a drink in the afternoon. The tent itself was incredible, with a full bathroom and a deck overlooking the river. The camp, situated in the heart of the bush and secluded from other tourists, feels authentic and exclusive. Without a doubt, we highly recommend the Serengeti Migration Camp—especially Steven and Hassan—for an unforgettable safari experience.
Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge
The Arusha Coffee Lodge was the perfect overnight stop upon arriving in Tanzania before heading out on safari. The staff were warm and welcoming, our room was spacious, clean, and modern, the grounds were lush, and breakfast was delicious. After such a delightful first night, we knew we were in great hands for the rest of our trip. Plus, being just a five-minute drive from the Arusha airstrip made our morning departure easy and allowed us to rest after our long journey from the U.S.
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
The Ngorongoro Crater Lodge completely blew us away! The photos didn’t do it justice—being there in person was an unforgettable experience. We feel so fortunate to have spent two nights at this truly unique lodge, which perfectly blends medieval luxury, Tanzanian culture, and a sense of personal exclusivity. Guests from around the world echoed our sentiment during our stay. Every view was breathtaking. We are especially grateful to our amazing driver and guide, Aziza, and our personal butler, KK, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and special on our honeymoon. Though we didn’t meet the Chef personally, every meal was incredible—creative, abundant, and absolutely delicious. The lodge is beyond 5 stars—truly exquisite!
