On the 10 days Uganda safari you will be able to see the Big Five, go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park and gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Itinerary
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport you will be picked up by our company driver guide and briefed before being transferred to your hotel for relaxation. All meals and your overnight stay will be at ‘Entebbe Hotel’ as the effects of the jet lag set in and prepare and prepare for the upcoming tour. Meal plan: Dinner.

In the morning, an experienced driver guide will transport you from your hotel and will give you a briefing about the trip before proceeding driving to Murchison falls which is located in the northern part of Uganda. During the journey, you shall be taken to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola where rhinos are being preserved and prepared to be returned to the wild in Uganda. This will give a high experience of the African Big Five mammals since among the Big Five the rhinos are not found in Murchison falls national park. During the Mini-Forest safari, you will take a nature walk around the sanctuary. You will have lunch with them at the sanctuary; you will just be free to relax for an indeterminable short while. You will then proceed for a wonderful road trip to Murchison Falls, which you will reach in the evening. Once you check in to the lodge you will be driven by a safari guide to Murchison Falls National Park in the evening search for the night prowlers and grazers such as lions, hyenas and leopards among others. Subsequently, return to the lodge for lunch then continue with some leisure and dinner.

After you prepare yourself with an early morning tea or coffee: We shall take you for a game drive to the northern shore in search for the lions, giraffes, oribis, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, Buffaloes among others and bird species. You will then take a shower, have lunch, and rest before being prepared for the next exercise in the afternoon. Lunch will follow and after that take a boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where one can view animals. Crocodiles and hippopotamuses exist preferentially in the water; water buffaloes, waterbucks and elephants are often sighted along the river either grazing or coming for water. You will then have to trek to the top of the waterfalls to have a better view of the waterfalls. Return to your lodge for dinner, rest, and spend the night there.

In the morning, following a healthy breakfast, you will be transported to Kibale Forest National Park- the primate capital of the world containing numerous chimpanzees, baboons and other monkeys after taking your lunch meals on the way. Upon arrival, you will proceed to check in at your lodge for acclimatization. In the evening, you shall proceed to Bigodi Wetlands on the eastern borders of the forest. You will go for a nature walk in the wetlands to be able to view many of the wild life such as the birds and many types of monkeys that are present in this region. You will rest at the lodge for the day.

Kibale National Park is recognized as the prime primate destination in the whole of East Africa. Chimpanzee trekking is an exciting and full natural experience involving a walk through a tropical forest crossing different streams of water. Some of the primates that you might be privileged to see include the red tailed monkeys, the black and white Columbus monkeys, butterflies and bird sounds from the canopy. A guide will help you to identify the chimps. It’s good to catch some photographs and watch them play or feeding. In afternoon, you will go for a nature walk to Bigodi Village and Wetland, famous for bird and primates viewing. By taking this tour, you are helping to grow this community since the income generated here goes to put up school and to provide micro financing.

After breakfast we proceed with our tour to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the wild life experience on the Kasenyi plains. During the drive you will be able to views of several crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountain ranges which appears to be magical. When we get to the park, we shall take a brief tour to identify some of the interesting animals as we head to the lodge for lunch. Your dinner and night accommodation are at the lodge.

Take breakfast early in the morning as you prepare to go on a morning game drive within the park. I expect to come across the bigger animals, the big five, including buffalos, elephants, lions, and other animals like the giant forest hogs, bushbucks, kobs, hyenas and waterbucks. You will take an early evening launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon. You will enjoy high averages of elephants, hippos, buffalos and crocodiles here. There are many birds that will be observed which include the shoebill which is one of the most unique birds in the world. You will move through iShasha sector of Queen Elizabeth national park when getting to Bwindi. It has the tree climbing lions in this region. In Ishasha, we will take a game drive through this expansive savannah country in search of the topis and African elephants and perhaps the lions dozing in the branches of fig trees. You will spend lunch in Ishasha and proceed with your drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will observe the shift from flat savannah, through hilly farmland to jungled hills and mountains. On your arrival at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park you will be taken for the cultural visit with the Batwa forest pygmies where you can interact with them and watch their excellent dancing skills. Your lunch is in the lodge before the next day, so dinner and your overnight stay will also be in the lodge. Meal Plan: All meals are available with the stay.

After breakfast and briefing from park rangers, the exciting journey with packed lunch will commence. This takes time normally up to 4 hours or more because one has to trek up and down steep slopes, through vegetation often shrouded with mist. For this activity therefore, you will make arrangements to carry along something to eat so that when you are through, you will have a packed lunch. This active search will lead you to the face of one of the most popular and wanted animals – the mountain gorillas. When you reach them, you will get to spend a full hour interacting with them and doing photo observation of their behavior. Your lunch is in the lodge before the next day, so dinner and your overnight stay will also be in the lodge.

After taking your early morning meals, go for horse back ride in the Lake Mburo National Park. Finally, disembark the hotel to be transferred to Entebbe International Airport to be in a position to easily pick up your flight back home in the evening as you say goodbye to the pearl of Africa. The Best of Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife 10 Day Safari gives you a chance to discover the Ugandan naturally endowed country. The prime Uganda attractions you will be covering include Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi Impenetrable and Lake Mburo parks. These include, Gorilla watching in Bwindi where you track the endangered mountain gorillas and chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest, game viewing that includes the elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos and different types antelopes. You will also be taken for a visit at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, take a boat cruise on the Nile and visit the point of Equator in Uganda on the last day of the tour.
The 10-Day Best of Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari entails moderate physical fitness exercise with some strenuous activities such as the mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi. Trekking takes about 2 – 6 hours based on the location of the gorillas and entails hiking through the forest, some of which has steep slopes and may be muddy. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale is less demanding as a sport but still involve moving on foot for a few hours. Game drives and boat safaris are much easier to partake in and make the experience far more comfortable.
It is recommended for the 10-Day Best of Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari to be done in the dry season that is from December to February and June to September in Uganda. These months are relatively good for trekking in a way of the gorillas and chimpanzees because the trails are comparatively dryer and easier. Gazelle viewing is also easier as they tend to congregate around water sources. Nonetheless, the safari is open all year round, and the months of March, April and May and October, November are rainy and there are few people and the accommodation is cheap.
This 10 Days Best of Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari has been classified according to standard lodges, budget lodges and luxury eco lodges options. Accommodations are usually in or close to the park boundaries to allow guests to have a clear view of the park as well as easy access to interact closely with wildlife. Rooms usually consist of an en suite, comfortable furniture for sleeping, and food service. Some of the facilities available in these lodges include internet connection, fire places and the cultural encounters.
There are some things that have to be considered when choosing what to pack for the 10-Day Best of Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari and they include lightweight and breathable clothes of neutral colors, trekking boots, a waterproof jacket, insect repellent and sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. The price of a gorilla trekking permit also varies with the park: the price for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is approximately US$ 700 for international visitors; chimpanzee tracking is US$ 200 in Kibale National Park. These permits are some of the most popular and thus they have to be booked in advance.
