3-Day Best of Samburu National Park

Your journey begins with a 7:30 am pick up from the airport or your hotel in Nairobi. After a short introduction, you will head north along the scenic route toward Samburu National Reserve.

Set along the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River, the reserve is known for its rare Samburu Special Five, including Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx, species mostly found in this region.

You will arrive in time for lunch and check in at Samburu Simba Lodge. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive to explore the wildlife rich landscapes. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

After breakfast, head out for an early morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, when wildlife is most active. You may witness predators on the move while other animals gather around waterholes and shaded salt licks, making for excellent viewing and photography.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, allowing you to stay immersed in the wilderness and maximize your time with nature. Afterward, continue exploring the reserve, where encounters with predators and dramatic wildlife moments are always possible.

In the evening, return for dinner and an overnight stay at Samburu Sopa Lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

After breakfast, you will be driven back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon. Depending on your schedule, you can visit the Giraffe Centre in Karen on the return journey, where you can feed and stroke the giraffes that live there. You will then be driven back to your hotel in Nairobi or the airport to catch your next flight. This marks the end of this unmatched journey.
