3-Day Safari in Akagera Game Driver Experience

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and transferred to Akagera National Park, enjoying scenic views of Rwanda’s countryside along the way. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at Akagera Game Lodge with the assistance of your guide. After a brief rest, head out for a half-day game drive to spot some of the park’s iconic wildlife, such as giraffes, antelopes, and elephants.

Later in the afternoon, unwind with a relaxing sunset boat trip on Lake Ihema, where you may see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Akagera Game Lodge.

After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive as you explore the park’s diverse landscapes and search for wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and possibly lions or leopards. Return to the lodge in time for lunch and take a short rest.

Later in the afternoon, set out for a night game drive, an exciting opportunity to witness the park’s nocturnal animals in action. With the help of spotlights and a skilled guide, you may encounter hyenas, bush babies, and other elusive creatures that are rarely seen during the day.

Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the African wilderness.

After breakfast, head out for a second game drive in an open 4x4 vehicle, offering another chance to explore the park’s rich wildlife. This drive will take you around Lake Rwanyakazinga, a great spot for viewing water birds, hippos, and other aquatic animals in their natural habitat.

Continue your journey northward toward the Kirara Plains, where you may encounter large herds of animals such as buffaloes and zebras. After the game drive, exit the park and begin your return trip to Kigali, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening and drop off to your hotel.
