Itinerary
After having a briefing in the morning, and having had a 2 hour drive, you will get to the Tarangire National Park. Large baobab trees, bush savannah, and occasionally flooded plains make up the landscape of this nature reserve. It is regarded as one of the best places to go to observe elephants in their most natural environment. This park also has the buffalo, the zebra, and the wildebeest that are always accompanied by different types of predators like the lion. Occasionally people can sight leopards, whereas cheetahs are more a rare occurrence in this region. You will be able to see the animals and other things that exist within the park by driving in the open roof of the jeep. After the day’s expedition in the park, you will be driven to the lodge where you will stay overnight.

After breakfast you will drive through the cooler highlands to the eastern part of Serengeti. Worry not, you will be at Serengeti National Park plains by midday. This park is the biggest park in Tanzania and has variation of vegetation and land features; with short-grass plains, Savannah, Bush country, swamps, and Lakes. Kopjes, enigmatic granite formations, are scattered all over the grassy terrain. Predators are often seen here. The Serengeti is abuzz for the seasonal migration, where annually, around 1.5 million wildebeests and zebras move in search of food and water. This will be the first night accommodation in Tukaone Serengeti Camp, located inside the park.

During the morning, you will have the opportunity to go for game drives in the plains of Serengeti. In the morning you will depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The moment you get to the edge of the crater, you will be in a position to view the giant Ngorongoro caldera, which is quite amazing. Your stay at Ngorongoro Wild Camp is for one night.

This will be followed by an early breakfast then you will be taken on a game view over 600m down on the crater floor. With assured availability of water and grazing land, the area is rich in a number of animal species such as wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant elephants. Other attractions of this magnificent national park are the predators that can be easily spotted in the park such as lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and, though elusive, the leopard. The large, but shallow and alkaline Lake Magadi, situated in the southwestern part of the crater, will be the next attraction on our list. This is usually a common habitat for flamingos, hippos and many other water birds. You will then be transferred to the lodge in the afternoon where you will spend the night eating and sleeping.

Manyara National Park features the famous Manyara Lake that holds the large water birds’ colonies. Especially the flamingos salmon-rose color, but you can also see other birds like cormorants, pelicans, storks, etc. The park also boasts of the tree climbing lions. While on the safari you will be able to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and many other varieties of the animals. After the game drive the group will be driven to Arusha and the airport.

This package usually involves the park fees, accommodation on a full board basis, a 4 wheel drive safari vehicle, a professional English speaking guide, and bottled drinking water throughout the tour. However, fares for international flights, visa costs when necessary, travel insurance, small incidentals, and other costs like hot air balloon safaris are usually not catered.
Yes, the Ultimate Safari Experience is offered all year round with different distinct months recommended depending on the wildlife sighting preferences. During the dry season particular from June to October, visibility is very good and the animals congregate around the water source. Personally I have never been to Serengeti to see the Great Migration but for that event, I might go probably between December and July depending on the movement of the herds. The best times are during the wet season, which runs from November to May with green vegetation and birds for watchers while some roads may be slippery or muddy.
The 5-Day Ultimate Safari Experience is not strenuous, as game drives are done in comfortable safari vehicles and there is no intervention of trekking. Though, the journey can sometimes take a very long time and is bumpy especially doing a circuit through Serengeti and Ngorongoro Highlands. For those with certain difficulties regarding mobility, it is advised to inform the tour operator in advance so they can take the necessary steps to make your visit comfortable.
For the ultimate wildlife park experience be sure to dress lightly and favour clothes with lot of ventilation and dull colours to avoid any disturbing the wildlife. For this safari, clients should pack warm jackets for early morning game drives, comfortable shoes, hats, sun glasses, sun block lotion, and anti-insect cream. A good pair of binoculars and a camera with extra memory cards is very useful for embracing magnificent wildlife. It is also important to pack some personal items such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a water bottle and any other medication that you might need. That means you do not have to bring very many clothes because most of the lodges do offer washing services.
