Local entertainment and performances will be provided at the briefing point of Uganda Wildlife Authority – UWA in Bwindi, Uganda; each group will then be assigned a gorilla family to track for the day accompanied by an armed ranger. They are gentle giants and because of our proximities, travelers who have flu or any other airborne disease related illness are advised not to approach mountain gorillas. They can also be completely deprived of the opportunity to trek if the rangers deem it worse continent-wide or more perilous. Before you travel, it is recommended to take flu and cough medication
Organised trekking takes between 1- 3 hours with challenging slippery tracks. Sometimes, when on the trek, you may hire a local potter to assist in carrying your luggage and gadget. Although tracking is the highlight of the day, several other stops offer a leisurely chance to view birds and monkeys and one of Uganda’s beautiful tropical rainforests. On completion of the trek, every participant is presented with a certificate and Queen Elizabeth National Park.
