Itinerary
You will be collected at your hotel at 8:00am to be taken to a very unique national park. The Tarangire is well-known for its geographical variation as it consists of nine vegetation era. It also has many features which make it famous such as the numerous ancient Baobab trees, which stand tall in the middle of the landscape and by comparison make the animals that inhabit them appear tiny. The park is also endowed with a river which harbors many animals which include birds, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and elephants. It is in fact home to the biggest population of elephants in the entire country and is the only place where one can witness actual interaction between elephant families. The lunch area is unique; there is an access to the observatory and the views of the river and wildlife are breathtaking (you may observe a hunt while enjoying your sandwich, unless of course, you have your vegetarian sandwich). In the afternoon we shall go for the game drive before heading to the camp.

Proceed for a short, scenic drive to the Great Rift Valley then forward to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day game drive. Despite the small size of the park (205 square miles) , half of which is preserved as a protected forest, this park has one of the finest scenic views with acacia bush, giant fig trees, mahogany trees and housing growing populations of baboons and blue monkeys. Residents of this park include swamp and reticulated giraffes, elephants, impalas, thousands of buffaloes, and hippos. Just the name Manyara, or seeing its powerful girls shakes one and makes it challenging to describe the beauty of theManyara landscape. The anti clock wise game drives along the lake offer some great picture moments especially of giraffes and buffaloes in the low lands with the lake and its masses of flamingos in the backdrop. Additional tours are feasible on this day, such as a bicycle tour or a boating tour. You will move to the camp for lunch in the afternoon.

The vista of the Serengeti is something that will remain etched in one’s memory after having the sight to behold. Finally as you continue deeper into the plains you can understand why in the local language ‘Serengeti’ means ‘the place of endless plains’. It covers an area of 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) and for most of the park, plains will continue unto a line of sight, challenging your limit of distance visibility. It is the cradle of the great migration, two million wildebeests and hundreds of thousands of zebras and virtually all species of antelopes resident in the Serengeti. For the big cats and other large carnivores, it is the best place to look for lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas and many more. This park has been featured in a number of famous television scenes.

Today is going to be quite different and special in many ways. This is because you will wake up very early, just before the sun rise and follow your guide until he gets to the Hadzabe people, one of the last purely nomadic local group in Africa. The simulation will be the next step, and you will be moving with the group in their everyday morning activities. This is not a typical tourist experience in any way but is quite adventurous. It is a traveller’s paradise, especially so if you are a photography enthusiast, as there are sightings to be made that are simply out of this world. Some of the activities you can engage in with the local group are either to accompany the men on their hunting or to go with the women to the fruits collecting session. In any case, you will be introduced to numerous aspects of the Hadzabe’s way of life. This will no doubt be the climax of your safari!
After dealing with the local group, we will proceed to Lake Eyasi, a soda lake in the rift valley. In the afternoon, you will fly to Zanzibar.

FAQs
During your grand tour, you will be introduced to a number of exciting drives exploring some of the famous national parks of Tanzania. Starting from Tarangire National Park that is renowned for its abundance in elephants and large impressive baobab trees to the encircling picturesque Manyara National Park, each park provides different view of wildlife.
While in Serengeti National Park where you’ll be spending 3 days, the highlights include the great migration (seasonal), lions, leopards, and cheetahs. In addition, there is Ngorongoro Crater that is famous for a unique glance of the Big five within a caldera and the Lake Eyasi to enjoy a cultural experience with Hadzabe and Datoga. They are daily game drives, which means that one
can opt for the morning, afternoon or the full day depending on individual interests.
This is a mixed camping and lodge safari, with accommodations chosen for comfort as well as the feeling of being in the wild. Tents in the Serengeti are luxurious and well-equipped with facilities within the camps that are immersed in nature but have all the comforts of the twenty-first century. Other lodges offer comfort lodging with private bathrooms, quality food and good view of the area surroundings.
For those who would like to pay extra, it is possible to upgrade to the luxurious lodges or down to the basic ones. When in Zanzibar, you will either reside in a sea front hotel or resort to ensure that you immerse yourself in the beach holiday.
The last three days of the entire adventure and excitement of a wildlife safari, is take it easy and free time to explore Zanzibar. You can relax on virgin sandy shoresand enjoy bathing in the incredible azure sea of the Indian Ocean.
For the adventurous, you can easily book a Stonetown sightseeing tour in which you will be taken through the spice market, the Old Town and the Prison Island among others. One of the possible tours is visiting Jozani Forest which is inhabited with Zanzibar red colobus monkeys. Tourism services that are not included in the overall price include snorkeling, diving in the crystal-clear water, dhow sailing, and spiced farm trips.
The question of when to go to this safari will depend on the kind of experience that one is interested in. The animal viewing is best in the dry season from June-October, but the river crossing of the great Migration in the Serengeti is also attractive.
Dry season: November to May – green, few tourists and the calving season in the Serengeti – from January to March. Zanzibar can be visited at any time of the year but the best time to visit the coastal area and beach activities is from June to March:
This safari also looks at cultural aspect as well as wildlife immersion. In Lake Eyasi, you’ll visit two tribes which are the Hadzabe as well as Datoga, which are among the very few hunter-gatherer communities in Tanzania. With them you can follow their everyday routines, get closer to their culture, and even take part in the hunters hunt with the Hadzabe people.
Stone Town is a good place to start getting acquainted with Zanzibar as it exemplifies Swahili and Arab but also reflects European and Indian personalities. The spice tour is also an interesting cultural tour since the island has a colorful history in the business of spices.
The packing list will make the trip more comfortable and enjoyable by making the right preparations in this regard. For the safari part, you should pack casual, light coloured clothing, a wide-brimmed hat, sun block for the skin and bug spray for mosquitoes for the boots. Good binoculars and an extra memory cards in a camera are very important to me when it comes to wildlife.
For Zanzibar, however, it is advisable to pack lightly, simple and cool clothing adequate to the warm weather complemented by swim suites and sandals to wear at the beach. For culture-sensitive clients, it is recommended to dress modestly if you will be visiting Stone Town or local villages. Additional accessories could include a waterproof bag for electronics and a power bank.
