2-Day Adventure in Akagera National Park

In the morning, your driver will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 am and transfer you to Akagera National Park.

Akagera is one of Africa’s great conservation success stories, now home to lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, leopards, and many other species. Thanks to the efforts of African Parks, wildlife here has made a remarkable recovery and continues to thrive.

Enjoy a guided game drive through the park, spotting diverse wildlife across its savannahs, woodlands, and wetlands. In the evening, experience a scenic sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema, where you may see hippos, Nile crocodiles, and a variety of water birds.

Later, check in at Mantis Akagera Game Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay on a half-board basis.

Set off early for a full-day adventure in Akagera National Park, exploring its diverse landscapes of savannah, wetlands, woodlands, and lakes.

During your game drive, look out for abundant wildlife including zebra, giraffe, buffalo, topi, impalas, elephants, rhinos, and other species such as eland, waterbuck, duiker, and reedbuck. Predators like lions, hyenas, and possibly leopards may also be spotted, along with smaller wildlife such as jackals and mongooses.

You will carry a packed lunch and stop at designated picnic sites within the park. After a rewarding day of wildlife viewing, you will drive back to Kigali in the evening, where you will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your safari experience.
