3-Day Gorilla Tracking in Both Bwindi and Volcanoes NP

Pick-up from your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, you may enjoy an optional city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

Afterward, drive north through Rwanda’s scenic countryside toward Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, take in the rolling hills, rural villages, and lush landscapes that define the country.

Upon arrival, check in at your budget accommodation near the park, relax, and prepare for the exciting gorilla trekking experience scheduled for the next day.

After an early breakfast, report to the park headquarters in Volcanoes National Park for a briefing before your trek. You will then embark on a magical gorilla trekking adventure through the dense forest, which can take between 1–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family.

Once you find them, you will spend a life-changing hour observing these incredible primates in their natural habitat—watching their interactions, feeding, and behavior up close.

After the trek, begin your journey to the Cyanika border, cross into Uganda, and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the next phase of your adventure.

Another incredible day awaits! After breakfast, you’ll set off for your second gorilla trek—this time in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Explore a new environment within the lush rainforest and, with a bit of luck, encounter a different gorilla family, offering a unique perspective on their behavior and habitat.

After your trek, return for lunch and some relaxation before beginning your scenic drive back to Kigali, where your tour comes to an end.
