4-Day Samburu – Ol Pejeta Northern Circuit Safari

Your safari adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Nairobi, typically between 7 and 8 AM. You’ll drive north through Kenya’s central highlands, passing scenic coffee and tea plantations, with a brief stop at the Equator crossing point.

Arrive at Samburu National Reserve in time for lunch, followed by a short rest. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive across this unique, semi-arid landscape. Samburu is home to the rare “Samburu Special Five” as well as elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with some of Kenya’s lesser-seen species.

Less crowded than southern parks like the Masai Mara National Reserve, Samburu offers a more exclusive and authentic safari experience. Return to your camp in the evening for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Wake up early for a morning game drive in Samburu National Reserve, then return to camp for breakfast, check out, and drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The journey takes about 2 to 2.5 hours through the scenic landscapes of central Kenya.

Arrive around midday for check-in and lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in this renowned conservancy, home to East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and a thriving population of both black and white rhinos. You’ll also visit the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees.

Ol Pejeta offers unique experiences, including learning about the critically endangered northern white rhinos, tracking lions with researchers, and optional night game drives to witness the savannah’s nocturnal wildlife.

Wake up early for breakfast followed by a final morning game drive in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, giving you one last chance to spot wildlife and enjoy the stunning scenery. You may also choose optional activities such as behind-the-scenes conservation visits, the Junior Ranger Program for children, or riding with rhinos for a unique wildlife experience.

Around midday, depart for Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon at about 4:00 PM. You will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or the airport, marking the end of your safari with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes.
