FAQs
The 8 Days Uganda Wildlife and Primate tracking Tour is an amazing tour that will allow you to explore the best of Uganda’s wildlife parks. Beginning in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala, you will visit Murchison, a fascinating national park renowned not only for the powerful waterfall but also for the abundance of lions, elephants, hippos, etc. You will then go tracking the chimps in Kibale National Park and then transfer to the Queen Elizabeth National Park for game drives and launches. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the highlight of the trip, where visitors are granted a close view of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Last of it, the safari entails a return to Kampala and departure from Entebbe.
This means that this particular safari is the perfect chance to observe many different animals and birds in their natural environment. When in the Murchison Falls National Park you will be able to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and many more especially along the Nile naughty hippopotamus and crocodiles. Kibale National Park is chimp and 12 other primate species with the likes of red colobus monkeys and L’Hoest’s monkeys. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to the tree-climbing lions, large numbers of buffaloes and elephants and a variety of birds. The Bwindi impenetrable forest is home to the endangered mountain gorillas and this makes the trip more exciting.
This 8 days Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari entails moderate exercise, particularly when tracking the primates. Doing chimpanzee tracking in Kibale and gorilla trekking in Bwindi involves physically undertaking a forest walk on steep and rough terrains. Gorilla trekking, for instance may take several hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located. Still, trekkers of moderate fitness can make the journey and porters are always readily available to aid with the carrying. Cruises on the Nile in Murchison Falls National Park and Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park are easy because most of the exercise is limited to shooting with the camera while in the safari jeep or boat.
The 8 Day Uganda Wildlife & Primates Tour package entails the accommodation, meals, park and chimpanzee/ gorilla tracking fees, game drives, boat cruises, tours, and sightseeing, and transportation in a 4X4 safari vehicle accompanied by an English speaking driver/guide. Supply of water during game drives and the treks are also included in this category. Pre-existing conditions, additional baggage, travel insurance, additional meals, and all extra spending money are generally excluded from tour packages. Thus, it is always advisable to consult the operator that is offering the tour service to get a complete list of what is included and what is not included.
It goes without saying that having the right equipment is crucial for a comfortable and successful 8-Day Incredible Uganda Wildlife and Primate Safari. Some of these are light coloured and breathable cloths, waterproof jacket, strong hike boots for tracking the primates, insect repellants, hat, sun cream/gel, binoculars/ camera with extra batteries and a compact day’s pack to carry all the necessary items in the trek. Due to the variations in climate within the safari, layering is advised. A pair of gloves can also help you hold on to vegetation while doing gorilla trekking in Bwindi which has a forested terrain.
This Uganda wildlife and primate tracking trek is suitable for those arriving during Uganda’s two dry seasons – June-August and December-February. There are also good Months for wildlife viewing because animals are often found around water sources and the trails used when trekking the chimpanzees and the mountain gorillas are not slippery. Although all the parks in Uganda can be visited throughout the year, there are slight variations depending on the season; the dry seasons (December to February and June to August) are generally less crowded but the trails may be slippery due to rains
