We will arrange for your pick-up from your accommodation in Kigali and transfer you to Ruhengeri, situated in northern Rwanda near Volcanoes National Park. The journey typically spans around three hours.
Once you arrive at the hotel in Ruhengeri, you have the option to engage in a cultural experience within the local area or simply enjoy a leisurely evening. Your overnight stay will be at either Five Volcanoes Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, or Bisate Lodge, with dinner included for your convenience.
At 6:00 am, your breakfast and packed lunch will be prepared for the day. Ensure you have an ample supply of water as you drive to the park headquarters for registration, briefing, and group allocations for gorilla treks, starting promptly at 7:00 am. Upon arrival at Kinigi, take advantage of complimentary hot coffee, tea, or milk while enjoying the traditional dancers performing on-site. Depending on the gorilla family assigned to you, you may commence the trek immediately or take a short drive to the starting point.
Trekking typically spans between two to six hours, contingent on the gorillas' movements. Guides will track them based on their last known location from the previous day. Upon locating the gorillas, you'll have an hour to observe their natural behaviors, including feeding, resting, grooming, or playing.
After the allotted hour, exit the forested slopes of Virunga Park and receive a Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Certificate from a ranger guide. Subsequently, rendezvous with your driver/guide and return to Five Volcanoes Lodge, Sabyinyo Silverback Lodge, or Bisate Lodge.
Begin your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on your journey to Kigali. During your tour, delve into the Museum, uncover the poignant history encapsulated within the Genocide Memorials, and browse for souvenirs at the handcraft markets. Conclude your day with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
