Following breakfast, we'll embark on our journey into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, soaking in the breathtaking vistas of the Ngorongoro Highlands. Today's agenda revolves around witnessing the Great Migration, with our focus centered on game drives in the Ndutu area. This time of year offers ideal conditions for observing the migratory herds as they pass through. Situated between Serengeti and Ngorongoro, the area around Lake Ndutu provides ample food sources for the animals, as well as a natural habitat for their predators. February, in particular, marks the peak of the wildebeest calving season, presenting numerous opportunities for unique wildlife sightings.
Following our morning meal, we have the option to embark on a game drive in the Ndutu Area. As the day progresses, we'll head towards Ngorongoro, arriving at the rim of the crater by sunset, where we'll spend the night. Activities include witnessing the Great Migration, which from December to March, draws the herds near Lake Ndutu, nestled between Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This region provides abundant food sources and a habitat suited to large predators, making it ideal for the migrating herds. February holds special significance for wildebeests, as it marks their calving season.
Our day kicks off with a descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exhilarating game drive, complete with a picnic lunch. As the afternoon unfolds, we'll conclude our safari with a return journey to Arusha. Throughout the day, we'll immerse ourselves in exploration, marveling at the extraordinary biodiversity of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
