Today, you'll set off on an adventurous exploration to Victoria Falls National Park, famously known as the 'smoke that thunders'. Following this, your journey continues southward to Hwange National Park, renowned as Zimbabwe's largest game reserve. In Hwange, you'll have an excellent opportunity to observe and explore the diverse range of animal species inhabiting the park.
Today, you'll explore the renowned Hwange National Park situated in the western region of Zimbabwe. Known for hosting Africa's iconic Big Five - lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalos - Hwange also offers a diverse array of plains game and birdlife. Its close proximity to Botswana allows for the free movement of animals, particularly elephants, between Hwange and Chobe National Parks.
Visitors may also encounter giraffes, cheetahs, and brown hyenas among other mammal species. Unfortunately, the wild dog population in the park is declining; however, conservation efforts have intensified in hopes of securing their survival.
After your morning meal, set out on a journey southward towards Bulawayo, the second largest city in Zimbabwe. Later in the day, embark on a guided tour of the Matobo National Park. The unique shapes of the hills in this area were sculpted by strong winds and are adorned with ancient rock paintings created by the Bushmen.
