Tour Plan

Day 01 Masai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, we will start our tour, making our way to Maasai Mara with a break for viewing at the majestic Great Rift Valley. We arrive in good time for a delicious lunch at Julia's River Camp.

An afternoon game drive follows until sunset, and then it's back to camp in the late evening just in time for dinner. After dining, a campfire gathering under the starry African sky rounds off the night before we settle in for the evening at Julia's River Camp.

Maasai Mara is renowned for its wildebeest migration, as thousands of animals congregate to take part in the spectacle. Predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs are also integral part of the experience, while other creatures like jackals, African wild dogs, foxes, and spotted hyenas lurk in the shadows, ready to prey on any unsuspecting migrants.

To top it off, the vultures circle overhead, eagerly awaiting their chance to scavenge the leftovers.

Day 02 Masai Mara Game Reserve - Kenya

A full day spent immersed in the Maasai Mara game reserve is an unforgettable experience. We will travel across the savanna, searching for majestic big cats—black-maned lions, cheetahs and leopards—to take pleasure in a glorious picnic lunch by the Mara River.

Here we will be treated to the sight of monumental herds of wildebeest and zebra traversing the grasslands between June and October, when the animals migrate from the Serengeti National Park in search of fresh vegetation.

Other plain game, such as Topi, hartebeest and eland may also be visible during our visit. Then, to end the day, we make our way to Julia's River Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 03 Masai Mara Game Reserve and guided nature walk

Take an early morning game drive through the savanna in search of wildlife before the scorching midday sun causes them to hide. Afterwards, we will head back to camp for a hot lunch and a guided nature walk or a distinctive Maasai village visit.

Absorb yourself in the culture by visiting a Boma, a home of local Maasai who invite guests into their abode. Consider making a small donation of 20 USD per person to help the families of school-going children.

Once day transitions to night, set off for an evening game drive between 16:00 to sunset for a few snapshots of animals and the setting sun against its horizon.

Then, return to camp feeling invigorated after a day full of amazing experiences.

Day 04 Masai Mara National Park to Lake Nakuru National Park

We'll start our day with breakfast, followed by a drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. There, you can look for cats in the Acacia trees, and observe the white and black rhinos that inhabit the area.

The lake is particularly renowned for its flamingos, and offers abundant opportunities for photographers due to the sheer number of greater and lesser flamingos that gather seasonally. Other water birds such as pelicans and cormorants can be seen as well.

As Lake Nakuru also serves as a rhino sanctuary, visitors may also spot rare Rothschild giraffes in the area. After a day of game viewing, we will retire to the lodge inside the park for dinner and an evening of stunning sunsets.

Day 05 Lake Nakuru National Park - Amboseli National Park

You are at the apex of your adventurous tour, fresh from a cozy abode in the middle of the wild. This morning, a light appetizing meal awaits you, before embarking on a game viewing tour in Lake Nakuru. After that, you'll be driving to Amboseli National Park; a lengthy journey, but it's all on a good road.

This park is renowned for its herds of elephants, as well as its zoological variety including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, antelopes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, and a range of other creatures. At the end of the day, a serene time around the campfire completes the perfect day out.

On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of the snow-capped peak of Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, standing 5,896m tall.

Day 06 Amboseli National Park

If you would like to get an up close and personal view of Mt Kilimanjaro and see the stunning wildlife that frequent the park's grounds in the mornings, you can arrange for an early morning wake-up call.

On your safari, you will traverse the Amboseli park, whose Maasai name translates to "dusty whirlwinds". You are likely to spot a variety of creatures, such as wildebeest, giraffes, gazelles, impalas, and zebras taking drink from the marshes fed by the ice from Kilimanjaro, as well as lions lounging on the fringes of the swamps.

Additionally, the park is also a paradise for photographers as the 425 different species of birds, and the majestic Kilimanjaro himself adds to the beauty of capturing elephant photographs. After a full day of exploration, Kibo Safari Camp will be there to provide dinner and a place to spend the night.

Day 07 Amboseli national park drive back to Nairobi end of safari

This morning marks the end of our seven-day safari. We will start activities off with an early-morning game watching before the park entry permit expires.

You and your driver, who is experienced, disciplined, knowledgeable, and safety-minded, will exit the park in good time and make your way to Nairobi for a transfer to the airport.
