Tour Plan

Day 01 Arrive in Nairobi

After your arrival in Nairobi, the tour guide will be able to drive you to the desired accommodation. Here, you can rest and recover from any jet lag or begin travelling through the vibrant city.

The Nairobi metropolitan area is home to over 6 million people and is aptly referred to as the Green City in the Sun. The region is located in the country of Kenya, and its name draws its origin from the Maasai language phrase Enkare Nairobi, which translates to "cool water" and refers to the Nairobi River that runs through it. The city was established in 1899 by the British East Africa's colonial authorities, as a railway station on the Uganda Railway.

You may spend the day resting and by nightfall you may experience the city's culture and history through its famous flea markets or sampling traditional Kenyan cuisine.

Day 02 Transfer to Samburu Reserve & Visit Mount Kenya

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, you'll embark on a journey northward from Nairobi to Samburu Reserve. Along the way, you will have the chance to appreciate the scenery with a hot beverage and even get an up-close look at pineapple farms. Be sure to spare some time for Mount Kenya, the famous peak measuring 5,200 meters (17,000-feet) above sea level. It is believed by the Kikuyu tribe, the local ethnic group, that God lives atop of this mountain, deemed as "Ngai" or "Mwene Nyaga", and is the place where Gĩkũyũ, the father of their people, meets with him.

The excursion will continue with a 20-minute halt at the equator border where visitors can experiment with the various forces of water in the two hemispheres. Local residents are convinced that standing in the middle of the equator for an hour can realign your spine and heal any back pains.

As the afternoon approaches, you will make it in time for a game drive and arrive at your hotel within the Samburu Reserve.

Day 03 Explore Samburu National Reserve

samburu gane reserve safaris

Spend your day exploring the renowned Samburu Reserve, home to the two conservationists George and Joy Adamson who were responsible for raising "Elsa," the lioness who achieved worldwide fame through the movie and book "Born Free".

Discover countless birds and animals including Somali Ostriches, Guineafowl, Hunter's Sunbirds, William's Larks, gerenuks, reticulated giraffes, Grevy's zebras, Beisa Oryxes, striped hyenas, and beyond. If you plan on spending a full day here, don't forget to pack a lunch and some water - it'll make the trip much more enjoyable!

Day04 Transfer to Olpajeta Conservancy

The Status of Gorilla Conservation in Africa

Now is your chance to experience Ol Pejeta Conservancy, situated on the equator, to the west of Nanyuki and between the foot hills of Mt. Kenya and the Aberdares. Stepping onto the 140 square mile non-profit wildlife conservancy in Central Kenya's Laikipia County, you'll be met with lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive where you can spot not only the Big Five animals but also the world's last remaining northern white rhinos and the sanctuary's chimpanzees.

The Conservancy's Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary provides a safe haven for orphaned, rescued and abandoned chimpanzees, making it the only place to view these apes in Kenya. With the Conservancy being home to the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa - reaching a population milestone of 100 black rhinos in 2013 - as well as the two remaining northern white rhinos transported from Dvůr Králové Zoo in the Czech Republic, there will be plenty of animals to view during your game drive.

Offering much more than just a chance to view wildlife, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy also focuses on conservation and reinvesting funds into community development projects such as health care, education and infrastructure. So don't miss out on the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind conservancy!

Day05 Visit Mount Kenya

You will embark on a journey to Mount Kenya today. The forests surrounding the mountain have an abundance of birds for keen birders to spot. Species like the Lesser Kestrel, Jackson's Widowbird, Abbots Starling, Jackson's Francolin, Hunter's Cisticola, the Crowned Eagle, African Grass Owl and Cape Eagle Owl are some of the feathered wonders you may see.

You should arrive by late afternoon. Afterwards, take a stroll in the woodlands and watch out for birds along the way. This will be an unforgettable experience!

Day 6 Visit Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru National Park safari packages

Embark on your journey to Nakuru, with a break to take in the breathtaking sights of the magnificent Great Rift Valley. Make sure to arrive at Nakuru for lunch! Spend the afternoon exploring the iconic Lake Nakuru National Park.

This remarkable park is renowned around the world for its large animal sanctuary featuring both black and white rhinos. Venturing further into the park will provide a glimpse of a variety of birds, including the picturesque greater and lesser flamingoes.

Additionally, you'll spot plenty of pelicans, waterbuck, leopards, and if you are lucky, the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

Day 7 Animal Migration at Maasai Mara Park

Today, explore the beautiful Maasai Mara Park, referred to as "the jewel of Kenya's parks"! This popular wildlife reserve is home to a wealth of animals and birds. You will arrive at the park in the late afternoon.

Maasai Mara is part of the expansive Serengeti landscape, known for its incredible annual migrations of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. Moving from Tanzania's northern Serengeti region to Kenya, the annual migration covers thousands of miles between June and September each year.

To make it to their destination, the animals must cross the powerful Mara River, where the current sweeps away some and crocodiles take many more lives. In the end, only the most resilient survive the treacherous journey.

Day 8 Cultural Experience & Exploring Maasai Mara

This morning, take a tour to experience the awe-inspiring culture of the Maasai community. During this exploration you will have the unique opportunity to meet the Morans, the young Maasai men who were once required to hunt a lion as part of their rite of passage into manhood. Upon your arrival, be prepared to be greeted with an traditional dance performed by both men and women.

A guide will then show you around their village, giving you an insider view into the lives of the people there and the traditions that they uphold. You will also get to see fire making in action as well as explore the inner workings of a Maasai family.

Later in the day, you will find plenty to occupy your time, including the chance to buy souvenirs at the local market and go on a wildlife safari in the park, looking out for the Big Five as well as any migrating species. By staying a second day, you may even catch a glimpse of some of the park's wild animals participating in their natural activities, such as lions hunting or cheetahs chasing prey.

Day 9 Game Drive in Maasai Mara

You have the option of taking a full day tour through Maasai Mara on your last day there. The tour will typically last from 10 am to 4 pm, with an opportunity to spot different species and witness interactions between them. Alternatively, bird watchers may want to set off earlier at 6:30 am, allowing for a three-hour game drive and a chance to see the birds at sunrise.

Day 10 Transfer to Mombasa Coast

You'll start your day in the breathtaking Maasai Mara before taking the local flight to Mombasa. The aerial views of Maasai Mara and Serengeti Park en route will be a sight to behold. Once you reach Mombasa, you'll be able to relax and soak up Kenya's white and blue city atmosphere, and enjoy the joys of African beach life.

Day 11 Explore Diani

Spend the day discovering Diani Beach and its many attractions. Start by enjoying a leisurely morning stroll along the beach before settling into a sunbathing session on the white sand.

Things You can here include;

  • Explore the stunning underwater life by diving, snorkeling, or kitesurfing in the clear turquoise waters.
  • Visit Kaya Kinondo, a revered Digo people forest to take in its beauty and learn about medicinal plants.
  • You can also see the 16th-century Kongo Mosque and its baobab trees surrounded by remnants of ancient Swahili civilizations.
  • Finally, visit the Colobus Conservation Center to view the endangered colobus, Sykes', and vervet monkeys as they receive rehabilitation.
