This expedition is a comprehensive loop through the Albertine Rift. The 10-Day Rwanda Uganda Gorillas Chimpanzees and Wildlife tour focuses on the “Big Three” primate encounters (Gorillas, Chimps, and Golden Monkeys) alongside classic savannah safaris and a visit to the powerful Murchison Falls on the Nile River.
At Murchison Falls, the Nile River is forced through a narrow 7-meter gap, creating the world’s most powerful surge of water. During your 10-Day Rwanda Uganda Gorillas Chimpanzees and Wildlife tour, you will take a boat cruise to the base of the falls to see hippos and crocodiles, and hike to the “Top of the Falls” for a panoramic view.
Kibale National Park is known as the “Primate Capital of the World.” It hosts 13 different species, and your 10-Day Rwanda Uganda Gorillas Chimpanzees and Wildlife tour includes a dedicated session of chimpanzee tracking to see our closest relatives in their lush, evergreen habitat.
This is an active safari. While the game drives are relaxing, the 10-Day Rwanda Uganda Gorillas Chimpanzees and Wildlife tour involves several days of forest trekking. We recommend a good level of physical fitness to navigate the potentially steep and muddy trails in Bwindi and Volcanoes National Parks.
Beyond wildlife, you will visit local communities in both countries. This includes a tour of the vibrant city of Kigali and opportunities to meet with local artisans or visit a traditional Ugandan village to learn about their customs and heritage.
Are night game drives available on this tour?
Night drives can be arranged specifically in Queen Elizabeth or Murchison Falls National Parks. These offer a chance to see nocturnal animals like hyenas, owls, and leopards that you might miss during the day portions of your 10-Day Rwanda Uganda Gorillas Chimpanzees and Wildlife tour.
