3-Day Mid-Range Gorilla and Golden Monkey Tracking Tour

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will meet our guide for a briefing before starting your long-awaited tour.

You will start by visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn more about the dark history of genocide against the Tutsi in 1994. After finishing, you will enjoy lunch before hitting the road to Musanze, the location of the Volcanoes National Park and the mountain gorillas, for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park. Park officials will meet and greet you before starting the exciting track to the mountain gorillas. The track may take 2-6 hours, depending on the gorilla family you are allocated to visit. Once you reach the gorilla family, you will spend 1 hour with them.

After the track, you will visit the gorilla guardians' village and hear about gorilla poachers turning their lives around and are now proud gorilla protectors. The villagers will also share Rwandan traditional cultural experiences, including weddings and dances.

You will have a late lunch and an evening of relaxation at your hotel.

After an early breakfast, you will return to the headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, this time to track golden monkeys. Park officials will meet and brief you on the journey and what to expect as you observe their behaviour. You will have 1 hour to take photos and enjoy the fresh air. Once you are back at the headquarters, you will be transferred to your accommodation for lunch before departing for Kigali International Airport. End of the tour.
