4-Day Akagera and Bwindi National Park

After lunch in the city, begin your scenic drive to Uganda via the Cyanika or Gatuna border crossings, heading toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The journey offers stunning views of Rwanda’s rolling hills and Uganda’s lush countryside.

Arrive at your lodge near Bwindi in the evening, check in, and relax as you prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience the following day. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a comfortable lodge close to the park.

Rise early for a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you will head into the dense rainforest with experienced guides and trackers to locate a habituated gorilla family.

The trek may take between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the unforgettable one hour spent observing them up close makes the experience truly rewarding. You will watch them feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat.

After the trek and lunch, continue your journey to the peaceful Lake Bunyonyi, known for its scenic islands, calm waters, and safe swimming conditions. Spend the evening relaxing by the lake and enjoying the serene environment. Overnight will be at a lakeside resort.

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kigali, traveling through Uganda’s highland scenery and rural villages before crossing into Rwanda. Depending on timing, you may stop for lunch along the way or upon arrival in Kigali.

You will reach Kigali in the afternoon or early evening, with drop-off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight. This marks a peaceful conclusion to your safari, filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, cultural experiences, and stunning landscapes across Rwanda and Uganda.
