4-Day Bwindi Lake Bunyonyi & Volcanoes NP

As you journey toward Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, you’ll be treated to rolling green hills, lush valleys, and dense forests. Along the way, pass through charming villages, observe daily local life, and take in the beauty of the countryside.

Start your day with an early breakfast before heading to Volcanoes National Park for a briefing on golden monkey tracking. The trek takes you through lush bamboo forests, where experienced guides help locate a habituated troop of these playful and energetic primates. You’ll spend an hour watching them leap through the trees and forage for food—an exciting and memorable encounter.

After the trek, return to your lodge to freshen up and check out. Then begin a scenic drive through rolling hills, green countryside, and local villages as you make your way toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. After crossing into Uganda, continue the journey to this famous gorilla habitat.

Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and relax in the peaceful rainforest surroundings, preparing for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a briefing before setting off into the dense rainforest with experienced guides. The trek takes you through rugged terrain as you follow signs leading to a gorilla family, with chances to spot other wildlife such as monkeys and colorful birds along the way.

Once you find the gorillas, you will spend an unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat—watching their interactions, feeding habits, and social behavior while capturing memorable photos at a safe distance.

After the trek, you will be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi for an overnight stay, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful lakeside scenery.

Start your day with a relaxing canoe ride on the calm waters of Lake Bunyonyi, exploring its scenic islands and spotting a variety of bird species. Take in the tranquil atmosphere and beautiful views of the surrounding hills, with an optional boat ride to visit some of the lake’s historic islands.

After the experience, check out from your lodge and begin your journey back to Kigali. Along the way, enjoy picturesque landscapes and cross-border views before arriving in the city.

Depending on your schedule, you may explore Kigali’s cultural sites or proceed directly to the airport for your departure.
