Itinerary
Kibale Forest National Park is 9 hours drive away from either your hotel or the airport and you will be picked up there. There will also be a break and lunch in mid of trip. When they get there, there will be a late supper and be able to view the forest of the Kibale National Park.

The best time to visit the Maramagambo Forest is during the dry season, especially in January to February and mid June to July because chimps are easier to track.

It is recommended that you have an early morning breakfast, before proceeding to the park headquarters where you will be briefed on tracking and safety procedures. You will then be transported in a vehicle to the departure point to start the chimpanzee trek in the forest. Following this wonderful wildlife encounter, get back to your car near the edge of the forest and proceed back to the Maasai village at Isunga Lodge to have your lunch. Pay a visit to Bigodi Swamp sanctuary to take a break take a walking tour in morning or afternoon to view other birds and primate.

In the morning after breakfast, you will be accompanied by park ranger guides to the park headquarters and with packed lunch you begin the gorilla trekking adventure. The activity may take 4 hours or more to locate the mountain gorillas depending with the slopes occupied by thick misty vegetation cover. Therefore you will take packed lunch for this activity. This active quest will eventually lead you to the face of one of the most sought after creatures- mountain gorillas. When you get to them, you will spend one hour with them and during this period, you are allowed to make observations and take photos of them. You will then proceed to Lake Bunyonyi, and enjoy some optional activities such as canoeing, boating, and visiting some local communities.

Following breakfast, set of early on a road trip back to Entebale/Kampala with a rich experience of the extraordinary mountain apes in mind. Spend time on lunch break with a stop at equator line for scientific demonstrations. Travel back to Entebbe International Airport by arriving in the morning but take a taxi dropping you off at the airport by approximately 6 pm to check in for the flight back home. This highly recommended 5 Days Uganda Gorilla and Chimp Tracking Tour includes; transportation in a 4×4 safari car with English speaking driver/guide, park entrance fees, chimpanzee tracking and gorilla tracking fees in Kibale and Bwindi forest national parks respectively, meals and four nights’ accommodation. The package also includes nature walks at Bigodi Wetland, a tour at Lake Bunyonyi and a short tour in Kampala before going back to Entebbe. Taking liquids also includes water during transfers and trekking in the ratings.
Given that the 5-Day Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzees Safari involves a lot of physical activities such as hiking, it is recommended that the clothes that are worn during the day should be light and breathable while those worn during the morning and evening should be many and warm. Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking require waterproof hiking boots since the ground may be slippery and wet. A rain jacket, insect repellent, trekking gloves, sunglasses and hat, and sunscreen should also be taken along. Do not leave behind a good camera along with extra batteries and a pair of binoculars for bird and other wildlife watching.
Hiking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to go gorilla trekking physical exercise as the trek involves a long hike in the forest and stony steep slopes at times. The duration of the trek ranges between two to six hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. However, the participants are segregated according to the fitness level, while the porters are available to help in carrying your backpack and more. It is moderately tiring but coming face to face with the endangered mountain gorillas as they go about their day in the dangerous Virunga Mountains, it is priceless.

The best time to have the 5-Day Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzees Safari is during the dry seasons, which are from June to September and December to February. During these months the Kibale and Bwindi trekking trails are less muddy unlike during other seasons and thus making it easier for the trekkers to trek. Wildlife viewing is also easier too since animals usually concentrate around water sources. However, the safari can be done al year round, and the rainy seasons which are march to may as well as from October to November have less crowds, but more vegetation which makes trekking slightly harder.
