Travelers will embark on a tour of Samburu National Reserve, renowned for its serene and remote ambiance, making it a favored destination among tourists seeking a quieter safari experience with fewer game vehicles compared to other reserves.
Despite its tranquility, the reserve still attracts a significant number of visitors, ranking among the most visited reserves after Masai Mara. The indigenous people of Samburu inhabit rural villages on the reserve's outskirts, relying heavily on the land for sustenance.
Visits to these villages are often included in day-trip itineraries, offering guests opportunities to immerse themselves in the local culture.
Moreover, the reserve is celebrated for its association with Joy and George Adamson, renowned researchers and conservationists who famously raised a lioness cub named Elsa. Their remarkable journey was later immortalized in the book, Born Free.
Begin your morning on the right note with a hearty breakfast at 5:50 am. Following this, it's time to venture out and immerse yourself in the wildlife wonders of the reserve!
Samburu offers ample opportunities to observe animals in their natural environment, with most of the Big Five species residing in the area.
You can expect sightings of leopards, elephants, as well as antelopes such as the majestic greater and lesser kudu, known for their impressive horns, among other fascinating creatures. The only missing members of the Big Five are rhinoceros.
On this final day, you'll need to get up at 5:00 in the morning for a meal. After that, you'll take a trip to Lake Naivasha with a break in Nanyuki for lunch. You'll reach the lake in the evening, where you'll be taken to your guesthouse to rest and, if you'd like, take an optional ship cruise.
We'll embark on a four-hour journey from Lake Naivasha to explore the renowned Masai Mara National Reserve, recognized as a World Heritage Site and one of the contemporary Seven Wonders.

Located in Kenya, this park is renowned for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. The name "Amboseli" originates from a Maasai expression meaning "salty dust." It is widely recognized as one of the premier locations in Africa for observing herds of elephants up close.
For those intrigued by the environment, Amboseli offers exploration across five distinct habitats, including the dry bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulfur springs, savannah, and woodlands. Moreover, visitors can engage with the local Maasai community residing within the park and gain insight into their culture.
