From thrilling encounters with wildlife to moments of tranquility in nature's embrace, our Zambia and Malawi Canoe Safari offers an unforgettable exploration of Africa's natural wonders. So pack your sense of adventure and join us for an unforgettable safari experience unlike any other.
The group will assemble at Livingstone Victoria Falls Waterfront in Zambia at 2:00 pm. Over the course of these two days, tour participants will have the opportunity to explore Victoria Falls, renowned as one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, as it cascades into the Zambezi Gorge. For those seeking adventure, activities such as white-water rafting on the Zambezi River and a 111m bungee jump (at your own expense) are available.
The second day features a complimentary breakfast, and active participation is encouraged throughout the safari. From carrying personal belongings to cleaning windows and assisting with packing the truck in the morning, everyone's contribution makes a meaningful impact. While meals are provided by the tour guide, clients are expected to take turns assisting with washing up activities.
Our expedition through the lush Miombo hills of Southern Zambia towards the Kafue River reaches its climax with a night spent camping. Although the journey is extensive, it promises breathtaking vistas and an exhilarating, albeit bumpy, ride.
We'll make occasional stops along the route to appreciate the scenery and enjoy a meal. Anticipate the trip lasting approximately 10 hours.
Join us as we venture down the Zambezi River, the realm of the legendary Nyami Nyami. As we glide through local villages and breathtaking landscapes in our canoes, we'll establish camp on a secluded island nestled amidst pristine Africa.
The following day, our canoe journey continues through a landscape teeming with elephants, hippos, and other wildlife. When the time comes, we'll be ferried back to our starting point by motorboat.
Our journey will take us to Lusaka, the lively capital city of Zambia, where we'll procure any necessary supplies for our trip. Traveling along the Great East Road, we'll press on until nightfall. While it may be a long day of travel, it's crucial for us to arrive at South Luangwa by day 7.
We'll journey towards the "valley" of South Luangwa National Park, a secluded haven celebrated for its extraordinary wildlife. Within this remarkable sanctuary, sightings of hippos, elephants, lions, and leopards are common.
During our stay, we'll camp along the banks of the Luangwa River and participate in two game walks and two open 4WD game drives. One of the drives will be conducted at night, aided by spotlights to glimpse nocturnal creatures. (Please note that during the green season, from December to April, game walks may not be available, but additional game drives can be arranged in their place).
As we approach the final days of our tour, Malawi beckons - known as "the warm heart of Africa." We'll restock our supplies at the markets of Lilongwe before journeying to our beachfront camping site on the shores of Lake Malawi. Embarking on an excursion to the islands, we'll explore the breathtaking bays and coves nestled within this area.
Following breakfast, you will be ferried by small buses from Lake Malawi to Lilongwe in preparation for your flight departure.
