Day 01 Arusha to Tarangire National Park (Tanzania)

Our Tanzania & Kenya Safari commences with an informative briefing on the African safari experience. Following this, we embark on a southwest journey to Tarangire National Park, a prominent destination within the Northern Safari Circuit game preserves.

Renowned for its extensive elephant population and diverse wildlife, Tarangire also attracts numerous bird species to its picturesque Tarangire River. During the wet season, animals migrate to the park from nearby regions, including predatory cats in search of prey.

After marveling at the scenic vistas adorned with baobab and acacia trees while scouting for wildlife, we retire for the night at a lavish tented camp near Tarangire National Park. These well-appointed tents feature verandas overlooking Lake Burunge and Tarangire, offering amenities such as a pool, main lounge, and a dining/bar area constructed atop a wooden deck that affords guests breathtaking views.

To enhance the picturesque ambiance, guests can indulge in sundowners as the sun sets over the lake and bush, or gather by the fireplace on chilly evenings. The journey spans approximately 150 km and lasts 2-3 hours, with lunch and dinner included.

Day 02 Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park & Karatu (Tanzania)

This morning, our journey from Tarangire National Park will transition northward to the expansive stretch of the Great Rift Valley. Extending for 6000km between Syria and Mozambique, the valley boasts diverse wildlife and captivating landscapes. Our next stop will be Lake Manyara National Park, where approximately one third of the area is dominated by a vibrant soda lake, from which it derives its name. During our game drive, you'll have the chance to witness lions climbing trees, and during certain rainy seasons, large flocks of flamingos and waterbirds flock to the area. The compact park is also home to extensive baboon troops, elephants, and an array of other animals including hippos, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, monkeys, warthogs, and wildebeest. Bird enthusiasts can rejoice in the presence of over 400 bird species inhabiting this realm of the Tanzania & Kenya Safari.

Following the lush views of the Ngorongoro Highlands, a brief thirty-minute journey will lead us to Tanganyika Wilderness Adventure Lodges, nestled near a coffee estate close to the entrance of the crater conservation area. The lodge offers breathtaking views of the crater highlands and provides an idyllic setting for relaxation and rejuvenation. If time permits, guests may partake in an optional walk through the plantations.

This tour includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all covered by Exodus Safaris.

Day 03 Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti National Park (Tanzania)

On day three of our African safari expedition, we embark on a journey to uncover the marvels of Ngorongoro Crater, celebrated as one of the continent's premier wildlife parks. Nestled in the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit, Ngorongoro stands as the world's largest intact volcano crater, sprawling 18 km across with walls reaching up to 600m in height.

This unique caldera serves as a sanctuary for some of the densest mammal populations globally, supporting an estimated 25,000 large animals. From the comfort of our 4x4 vehicle, guests can marvel at the Big Five, along with a variety of other species including monkeys, hyenas, and endangered black rhinos.

As the sun sets, we bid farewell to the Garden of Eden and journey towards the rolling Serengeti Plains, where the annual Great Migration unfolds with its captivating spectacle of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle traversing the grasslands.

Nestled within the park, we'll settle into a comfortable tented camp equipped with en suite bathrooms, electric lights, mosquito nets, and all essential amenities for relaxation after a day of adventure. With satisfied appetites and weary eyes, we eagerly anticipate the next day's exploration of the Serengeti.

Day 04 Serengeti Safari (Tanzania)

On the fourth day of our Kenyan and Tanzanian safari, we'll rise at dawn to witness the breathtaking sunrise casting a silhouette over the wildlife of Serengeti National Park. The early morning presents the prime opportunity to observe the diverse array of African creatures that call this area home.

From majestic rhinos to graceful gazelles, there's a sight for every nature enthusiast to behold. For an added touch of luxury, participants have the option to book a hot air balloon ride, offering a bird's-eye view of the dramatic expanse of the Serengeti Plains. Following this unique aerial tour, guests can indulge in a champagne breakfast amidst the bush.

In addition to the renowned Big Five (rhino, lion, buffalo, elephant, and leopard), the park boasts a plethora of antelope species and other wildlife, including cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, serval cats, crocodiles, hyenas, monkeys, mongooses, rodents, and over 500 species of birds. For those interested in delving deeper into conservation efforts, guided tours to the visitors' center operated by the Frankfurt Zoological Society, spanning three decades, are available.

In the afternoon, we'll resume our game drive, navigating through the picturesque terrain of Serengeti National Park. As night falls, we'll return to our lodge nestled in the heart of the African bush, where we'll spend another tranquil night marveling at the wonders of nature.

Meal plan for the day: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.

Day 05 Serengeti National Park to Lake Victoria (Tanzania)

On our final full day in Tanzania, we'll begin with breakfast at our tented camp in the Serengeti before embarking on one last game drive to spot any animals we may have missed. Afterwards, we'll head northwest to Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa and the second largest in the world. This presents a unique opportunity to immerse ourselves in the local culture and way of life, including a visit to a rural school—an experience few tourists encounter.

Following our exploration of the region, we'll proceed to a tranquil safari lodge nestled along the shores of Lake Victoria. Here, amidst the serene surroundings, we'll find a restaurant, bar, and lounge to unwind in.

Our accommodation comprises private thatched bungalows situated along the shoreline, where we'll relish dinner and spend the night. The journey covers approximately 180 km and takes between 4-5 hours.

Day 06 Lake Victoria (Tanzania) to Masai Mara National Reserve (Kenya)

This morning, we'll kick-start our tour after indulging in a hearty breakfast. Our journey commences with the Tanzania and Kenya Safari adventure. We'll glide onto Lake Victoria aboard a canoe to witness locals fishing in their traditional manner. After savoring this distinctive experience, it's time to venture forth and cross the border into the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

Within the reserve lies the largest lion population of any African game reserve. Witness the mesmerizing sight of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles migrating across the picturesque plains as part of the annual Wildebeest Migration.

The Reserve boasts a rich diversity of species, including antelope, rhinos, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, hyenas, and a myriad of birds. Naturally, no visit to the Masai Mara would be complete without encountering the iconic big cats—lions, leopards, and cheetahs.

For the night, we'll retreat to luxury tents nestled on the periphery of the Game Reserve, offering breathtaking vistas of the reserve itself and the diverse array of animals and birds it shelters.

Our journey today spans approximately 270 km and will take approximately 8-9 hours, with meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner included.

The incredible wildebeest migration occurs during the rainy season, typically from July to October, when the Mara River swells to several times its normal size. Witness thousands of hoofed beasts braving the river crossings, despite the lurking danger of hungry crocodiles patiently awaiting their prey below.

Later, we'll retire for the night at a safari camp nestled on the outskirts of Masai Mara, featuring permanent canvas tents equipped with en suite bathrooms. Delight in sumptuous meals of breakfast, lunch, and dinner while soaking in the mesmerizing sights and sounds of the African bush.
