Known as Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park and designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Serengeti is an ideal destination year-round. With its celebrated yearly wildebeest migration, it's easy to see why this place has become a staple of outdoor adventurers looking for an unforgettable experience. Before reaching the Northern part of the Serengeti, you will pass by some of the most breathtaking game drives, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore the area.
Embark on an unforgettable day of discovery, as you explore the vast expanse of the world-renowned Serengeti. Take a full-day game drive through the area surrounding the Mara River, where crocodiles prey on their unsuspecting prey and the wildebeest gather in anticipation for their yearly migration. It's a remarkable sight to behold as the wildebeest wait to cross the river, their numbers increasing with each passing day. Without warning, however, some herds may veer away from the waters edge without explanation.
The wildebeest will ultimately choose where to cross, which can vary from year to year and cannot always be anticipated. This grand movement of animals is like no other, and to witness it firsthand is like having a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Spend the night at Mbugani Tented camp located in the Serengeti National Park.
Make this day a memorable one and spend it exploring the Serengeti! Take your pick between the Northern and the Central areas for a full day game drive, or split the day by devoting half of it to each region. When evening falls, stay in the comforts of Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp in the Central Serengeti. This will be an experience that you won't forget soon!
A trip to the incredible Ngorongoro Crater is sure to be an unforgettable reward, after it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Here, humans and wildlife live together in harmony - a truly unique experience. Witnessing the abundance of animals on the crater floor, due to its permanent water supply, is quite extraordinary.
Prepare to take a 610-meter descend into the crater and observe many rare species, such as black rhino, wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle, and giant tusked elephants. Once you have spent 6-9 hours game driving around the crater, you will ultimately return to Arusha to enjoy your final evening. Then, begin your journey by staying overnight at Ilboru Safari Lodge, Arusha.
After you have your first meal of the day, we shall take you to the airstrip for your outbound journey.
This safari begins and ends in Arusha at the Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha Airport. Additionally, this adventure can be started and completed either in Dar es Salaam or Nairobi and, if you wish, we can reserve internal flights.
