Following breakfast, begin your journey towards the base of Mount Kenya and proceed to the Sirimon Gate, situated at an altitude of 2,650 meters. Embark on a 9-kilometer (3 ½ hour) hike along a scenic path surrounded by forests, bamboo groves, rosewood, and heather. As you ascend 740 meters, your body will gradually acclimate to the altitude.
The forest and bamboo terrains are home to abundant wildlife, including buffaloes, elephants, bushbucks, and a variety of bird species. Trek further uphill for approximately 1 kilometer from Old Moses Camp, reaching an elevation of 3,600 meters, where, on clear days, you may catch a glimpse of the two peaks, Nelion and Batian, standing side by side.
