Tour Plan

Day 01 Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

Head towards Samburu for check-in, lunch, and relaxation. Later, embark on an evening game drive in the renowned Samburu Game Reserve, famous for its "Special 5" animals: the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Gerenuk, Somali Ostrich, and Beisa Oryx.

Retire for the night at the Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Day 02 Full day in Samburu National reserve

Embark on a thrilling adventure with a morning game drive in the reserve. Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and enjoy the remainder of the morning at your leisure.

Indulge in a delectable lunch served at the lodge before setting out for an evening game drive.

The Samburu region boasts stunning landscapes, characterized by dry scrubland framed by majestic mountains. The river banks are adorned with unique doum palms, adding a vibrant touch to the scenery. Despite its arid nature, the area teems with wildlife, including unique species such as gerenuk, Grevy's zebra, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and Somali ostrich.

The region also offers a rich variety of bird species to admire. Additionally, the Samburu people contribute to the area's charm with their distinctive attire and accessories, particularly the colorful attire of their young warriors. Conclude your day with a delightful dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the Samburu Sopa Lodge

Day 03 Samburu to Sweetwater's conservancy

We journey from Samburu to Sweetwater's, enjoying a game drive along the way. Once owned by the wealthy multi-millionaire Adnan Kashoggi, this portion of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, including the ranch that is Sweetwater, holds a rich history.

A notable highlight of the area is the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, established by the Jane Goodall Institute, offering a safe haven for orphaned chimps and black rhinos. The sanctuary is secured by a special fence, ensuring the safety of its forty resident animals.

Sweetwater boasts an exceptional ratio of game to area, surpassing any other park or reserve in Kenya. The private waterhole and salt lick offer unique opportunities for up-close wildlife encounters. Whether indulging in day or night game drives, embarking on camel trekking, participating in lion tracking, enjoying al fresco dining, or simply relaxing by the pool, Sweetwater ensures a delightful stay for all visitors.

Comfort Gardens Sweetwater provides comfortable accommodations and delicious meals throughout your stay.

Day 04 Sweewater's conservancy to Lake Nakuru National Park

Begin your day by exploring the surroundings of your lodge before embarking on a scenic drive through the magnificent Rift Valley.

Upon reaching Lake Nakuru National Park, indulge in a delicious lunch followed by an afternoon game drive within the park. Lake Nakuru stands out as a unique wildlife reserve, with nearly half of its area covered by the lake itself.

With luck on your side, you may spot Rothschild Giraffes, Lions, White and Black Rhinos, and even Leopards roaming the park. Bird enthusiasts will find this destination a true haven, as it hosts a plethora of Greater and Lesser Flamingoes.

Conclude your day with a delightful dinner and spend the night at Flamingo Hill Tented Camp.

Day 05 Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

Begin your adventure with a satisfying breakfast at a nearby lodge. Afterward, set off for the Maasai Mara National Park, enjoying an en-route game drive as you make your way to the lodge for check-in and lunch.

In the evening, embark on a thrilling game drive to explore the expansive 1,792 square kilometers that make up the park. Discover its diverse landscapes, including low hills, sprawling savannah grasslands, gallery forests, and winding rivers. Keep your eyes peeled for the myriad of herbivores that roam the area, such as elephants, rhinos, buffalos, and various antelope species, as well as the park's apex predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards.

Don't forget to look out for the towering Masai ostrich, the largest bird in the region, along with other avian wonders such as the Secretary bird, crested crane, and saddle-bill stork. With luck, you may even catch a glimpse of crocodiles and hippos lazing along the riverbanks. Finally, wind down with a delicious dinner and retire for the night at the Jambo Mara Safari Lodge.

Day 06-07 Full 2 days in Masai Mara - game drives

Embark on an exhilarating balloon safari over the Mara plain before the sun graces the horizon, available at an additional cost of US$450.00 per person. Begin your day with a sumptuous breakfast at the lodge, followed by both morning and afternoon game drives.

The Masai Mara, an integral part of the expansive Serengeti ecosystem, is celebrated for its rich population of lions, especially the striking black-maned males. Witness the awe-inspiring spectacle of over 1.5 million wildebeests and other antelopes as they undertake their remarkable migration, crossing the formidable Mara River. Fortunate visitors may also encounter leopard, cheetah, rhino, or any of the Big Five during their explorations.

Capture unforgettable moments of the majestic African buffalo on your camera and immerse yourself in the essence of wildlife. In the evening, delve into the vibrant culture of the Maasai people with a visit to a Maasai village. On the afternoon of day 7, embark on a captivating walking safari. Conclude your extraordinary journey with a delightful dinner and a peaceful overnight stay at the esteemed Jambo Mara Safari Lodge.
