Today, after breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your safari guide and leave for Akagera National Park. The journey takes about 2.5 hours, depending on the stops along the way. The beautiful unwinding landscape en route to the park makes it easy to ask the guide for stopovers to capture some photos.
On arrival at the park, we will register at the park reception and then proceed to our accommodation with a short game drive. We will check in and have lunch. After lunch, we head out for an afternoon game drive in the park to search for small and big animals. We will look for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, topis, and much more.
At 4:30 pm, we will head out for a scenic sunset boat trip on Lake Ihema. This is a great opportunity to spot hippos and crocodiles in the water or by the shores and encounter buffaloes and elephants wallowing by the water banks. Later, we will return to the lodge for dinner and an evening stay.

However, we can hire porters to carry your gear and assist you on the steeper sections of the trail.
No, the use of drones is strictly prohibited in Rwanda’s National Parks without prior authorization from the Rwanda Development Board and Civil Aviation Authority. To capture the best memories on your 6-Day Luxury Uganda Gorilla Trek & Rwanda Wildlife Tour, we recommend high-quality cameras with wide-angle lenses for the balloon flight.
