Our adventure begins in the verdant forests of Uganda's northwest, where dense canopies echo with the calls of colorful forest birds. Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will receive a warm welcome from our friendly guide-driver, who will introduce you to the wonders of Uganda, often referred to as "The Pearl of Africa."
To kickstart your journey, we'll enjoy a delectable breakfast before heading to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Along the way, we'll pause to observe and admire some of the rare birds that inhabit this area. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed with a relaxing stay at the lodge. As the day's heat begins to dissipate, you'll embark on a two-hour rhino tracking safari. These magnificent animals are carefully monitored to ensure their thriving existence in Uganda, providing a wonderful opportunity to witness them in their natural habitat.
Following the safari, you'll venture on a dusk birding hike to explore the sanctuary's diverse habitats, which are home to 300 species of woodland, savannah, and wetland birds. It promises to be a delightful experience! To conclude the evening, dinner will be served in the tranquil atmosphere of the lodge.
We begin our morning bright and early with an excursion to the Zziwa wetland, where we eagerly search for the elusive shoebill and other aquatic wildlife. We anticipate ample opportunities to observe these remarkable birds up close. Later today, we will enjoy a delightful lunch at the lodge before departing for Masindi, where we will spend the night.
