This budget-friendly tour includes mountain huts and tented camps. You won't need to join other travelers, as it is organized exclusively for you. If there is availability, you can choose when this tour begins. Customization options are available, but this tour is not open to solo adventurers. Those interested must be at least 14 years of age.
Your adventure towards the summit of Africa kicks off following breakfast. Accessible within a drive of three hours or less, the Marangu gate marks the starting point of your journey.
Upon arrival, your trekking expedition commences, beginning with essential paperwork. After approximately three hours of walking, a prepared lunch awaits at Kisambioni before you proceed through the vibrant rainforest for an additional two hours.
Upon reaching Mandara Hut, a resting point awaits before exploring Maundi Crater. Your day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at Mandara Hut.
Embark on your journey from Mandara Hut nestled within the rainforest, and traverse through the heather moorland toward your destination, the Horombo Hut. The hike spans approximately five to six hours, factoring in a lunch break.
As you ascend, be prepared to witness extraordinary vegetation such as the giant lobelia and the giant groundsel. Upon reaching the hut, indulge in some well-deserved relaxation before enjoying a hearty dinner and settling in for the night.
Day 3 begins with a substantial breakfast, preceding a rigorous 6-hour trek. Our ultimate goal is the Kibo Hut, nestled between the majestic peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo.
Following a leisurely lunch, dinner will be served earlier to ensure ample rest before the evening summit push. Your guides will offer a comprehensive briefing to ready you for the summit attempt.
Your overnight stay awaits you at Kibo Hut.
With a cup of steaming hot tea and a light snack, the ascent commences at midnight, taking advantage of the solidified lava ashes that ease the journey. The trek to the summit of Uhuru Peak (5,895m) along Kibo's rocky path typically spans 5 to 7 hours.
Sometime during the night, you'll reach Hans Meyer Cave (5,220m), pressing onward until sunrise brings you to Gilman’s Point (5,681m). From there, a two-hour climb along the crater ridge leads you to Mount Kilimanjaro's highest peak.
At the Roof of Africa, soak in the majestic views of Kilimanjaro, cherishing the moment. After relishing the summit experience, descend to Horombo Hut where skilled chefs have prepared a hot lunch, followed by dinner and an overnight stay.
Following breakfast, you'll commence the final leg of your remarkable journey with a touching farewell ceremony from the mountain team. The journey from Horombo Hut (3,700m) to Marangu Gate (1,860m) typically spans 4 to 5 hours.
Upon reaching the Kilimanjaro gate, you'll sign out your name and receive a commemorative certificate for summiting Uhuru Peak. Afterwards, you'll be chauffeured to your lodging in Moshi, marking the end of your adventure.
We will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and transfer you to the airport for your scheduled flight to Kigoma via Dar es Salaam Airport. Upon arrival, you will be escorted to Ujiji village, where you can explore Dr. Livingstone's Memorial.
Following that, you'll be transported to Kibirizi Port to board your boat bound for Gombe National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you'll enjoy a hot lunch at Kasekela Tented Camp before embarking on an exploration of the scenic hills and verdant landscapes of western Tanzania. As the day's adventures draw to a close, you'll return to your accommodation for dinner and a restful night's sleep.
Today is your chance for an unparalleled adventure: tracking mountain chimpanzees in the Gombe Mountains! We'll start the morning with a hearty breakfast followed by a briefing on trekking guidelines from the rangers.
Then, it's off to explore the mountains, a journey that could span up to eight hours. Be prepared for a demanding trek. Traverse forests, ascend hills, and descend valleys, all in search of these gentle primates in their natural habitat. Upon encountering the chimpanzees, take your time observing their grooming rituals, feeding habits, and social interactions. It's an encounter few can boast of experiencing!
Afterward, we'll retrace our steps back to our lodging. Enjoy a well-deserved dinner and unwind after a truly unforgettable day of chimpanzee trekking!
Start your chimpanzee trekking adventure with an early morning meal, then set off to explore the verdant valleys and wander through the lush forest. Your journey will lead you to the breathtaking Mkenge Waterfall, a spectacular sight to behold. By midday, return for a well-deserved lunch.
In the evening, ensure you're packed up and ready to head back to Kigoma town for dinner and overnight accommodation.
Following a nourishing breakfast, you will be picked up and transported to the nearest airport for your return flight home, either to Dar es Salaam or Arusha. As this journey concludes, your safari adventure draws to a close.
