Itinerary
You'll be picked up earlier morning at the ferry or airport, or hotel to commence the 5-6 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Situated between the Uluguru Mountains to the East and the Rift Valley Escarpments to the Southwest, the park is near the Selous ecosystem, resulting in a high game density. Mikumi National Park offers a great opportunity to experience the diverse African wildlife and is ideal for a short visit.
After arrival at Mikumi National Park, you have the opportunity to embark on a late evening game drive and night game drives around the park. Your overnight stay will be at Bastian Camp or similar.

Full day of game drives around Mikumi. There is a rich variety of bird species as well as large numbers of giraffes, buffalo, and elephants, and close to the water holes, also lions, leopards, and hippos. Furthermore, you can see zebras, lions, wild dogs, pythons, hartebeest, wildebeest, elephants, impalas, warthogs, elands, and other antelopes. Several observation towers enable you to view the park in its entirety. Mikumi National Park is mostly miombo woodland with gently rolling hills. Later during the evening, you'll drive back for the night game drive.

After breakfast, you'll proceed with a morning game drive or return to Dar Es Salaam, depending on the planned arrival time in Dar Es Salaam. You'll arrive in the late afternoon/early evening, including transfer back to the hotel in Dar es Salaam or catch the ferry for Zanzibar. Breakfast and lunch are included.
This safari can also be organised from Zanzibar, adding a 2 hrs boat transfer or a flight from Zanzibar to Dar.
