The aerial view when approaching the Serengeti offers a glimpse of what is in store for the actual experience on the ground. If the day is clear you will be able to see some of the Serengeti resident wildlife as your plane prepares for a landing on the Seronera Airstrip. On arrival you will be picked up and transferred to a safari jeep to commence the tour of the Serengeti environment. These days you drive a car, take a walk and even venture out at night. From Seronera Airstrip, you fly back to Zanzibar. This is also possible if the journey begins/ends in Arusha.

Day 01 :

Transfer from Zanzibar to Serengeti National Park – by airplane

While en-route, the flight covers the Ilsey Island, the Tanzanian mainland, Ngorongoro highlands and Serengeti Plains before descending at Seronera Airstrip. The scenes captured here are beyond any doubt stunning. In the case of Serengeti, you will be in a 4×4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof within half an hour of arriving from the aircraft. Built-in midday, there will be a lunch and leg stretch break and then the ride continues. Early evening, you will be transferred to Africa Safari Serengeti Ikoma where you will have spent the night.

Full-Day Safari Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Today is a day we will spend half day at Serengeti National Park on a game drive basis. During the day you will stay in the vicinity of a notable event that occurs annually – migration. God willing, if you plan your trip during the rainy season or any time of the year you are calculating your chances of seeing this wonderful natural phenomenon. This vast terrain inhabited by several numbers of rivers, the game is there for viewing in large numbers. You are extremely likely to come across with giraffes, hippos, elands and elephants.

Day 03 :

Walking Safari accompanied by a sundowner & night game drive

Spend a few extra minutes in your tent or trailer and take it easy while you are on the campgrounds, read, relax on the patio or do nothing at all. This afternoon there will be a walking safari. A very special time indeed as the programme involves travelling into new areas and tracking the animals by foot – with your personal armed ranger. This activity takes about 2 hours of walking experience and finally, you will sit down to watch the sunset while sipping some cocktails in the Serengeti. Then head back to the accommodation for a quick meal since you are set for another lovely experience; the night game drive. A spotlight is mounted on the vehicle and before long, the first reflections of the animals’ eyes start showing. The night is a world in its own right; new exciting activities of the night animals, new colors of darkness, new and unknown sounds. Usually, bushbabies, civets, and genet cats prowl nocturnally; the rather rare aardvark or porcupine may also be observed.

Day 04 :

Transfer to Seronera Airstrip – Domestic flight back to Zanzibar Airport

Heading is typically in the morning after a good night’s sleep. Your car will be transporting you to Seronera Airstrip for the flight to Zanzibar Airport. Get to see interesting sights while flying over the Serengeti National Park and marvel at the changing landscape of the Great Rift Valley. You might even catch a view of Mount Kilimanjaro as the plane makes a stop over in Arusha. Meanwhile on another note you will return to Zanzibar Airport with a camera full of pictures that will be captured during this amazing African experience!
