3-Day Akagera National Park- Game Safari Tour

You will be picked up on arrival at the airport and driven to Akagera National Park. If your arrival is after 4:00 pm, an overnight stay in Kigali is recommended before continuing the journey.

As you travel, enjoy the scenic countryside and the traditional rural lifestyle of local communities along the way. Upon arrival at your lodge, you will have a hot lunch before heading out for a short afternoon game drive.

Later in the evening, park rangers will take you on a guided night game drive, offering a chance to spot nocturnal wildlife such as leopards, hyenas, mongooses, and bush babies in their natural habitat.

Start your day with an early morning game drive in Akagera National Park, offering excellent chances to spot wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and, with some luck, lions and rhinos. The cool morning hours are ideal for viewing predators and other animals before they retreat from the midday heat.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, home to hippos, crocodiles, and a rich variety of birdlife including African fish eagles and kingfishers. This scenic safari offers a unique perspective of the park’s aquatic ecosystem and breathtaking landscapes.

In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive through Akagera National Park, taking in its rich wildlife and scenic landscapes. You will then have a picnic lunch at Mount Mutumba (1,825m), offering breathtaking panoramic views over the park.
