3-Day Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trek with Cultural Visit

After an early breakfast, your private guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and begin a scenic 2.5–3 hour drive through rolling hills and vibrant towns to Volcanoes National Park. Start with a meaningful visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to gain insight into Rwanda’s history.

Upon arrival, check in at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or a similar lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund for an engaging and educational experience on gorilla conservation. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Then set off into Volcanoes National Park on a guided hike through lush rainforest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Treks can take anywhere from 2 to 10 hours depending on their location, but once found, you’ll spend a magical hour observing them up close—an unforgettable wildlife experience.

After the trek, return to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge or a similar lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay.
