3-Day Great Rift Golden Monkeys and Mountain Gorillas

You'll kick-start your adventure with an early morning pick-up in Kigali. At 4:00 a.m., you’ll set off for Volcanoes National Park, where the lively golden monkeys await! After meeting your ranger guide at the park headquarters for an essential briefing, embark on a trek through lush bamboo forests with breathtaking views of the Virunga Mountains. You'll spot these playful primates as they forage in the bamboo groves, showcasing their agile antics and social behaviors. After an awe-inspiring hour with the golden monkeys, you will return to the trailhead and enjoy a delightful lunch at a nearby restaurant. You’ll then continue across the border to Uganda, where the tranquil Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge awaits your arrival.

You'll start the day early, ready for an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, head to the park station where rangers will brief you on what to expect during your gorilla trek. Be sure to bring plenty of water, a packed lunch, and consider hiring a porter to help with the steep terrain.

Accompanied by expert guides and two armed rangers, you'll hike into the thick forest of Bwindi in search of mountain gorillas. Once you find them, you’ll spend a magical hour quietly observing these incredible animals in their natural environment watching how they interact, feed, and care for one another.

After the trek, return to Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge for a peaceful evening. You can take a dip in the pool, go for a canoe ride, or simply relax by the lake and take in the views.
