3-Day Volcanoes Gorilla Midrange Tour

You’ll receive a warm welcome on arrival at either your hotel or Kigali International Airport from your tour guide, who will brief you about your safari. You’ll then set off north through Kigali, enjoying stunning views of the Virunga Mountains as you head toward Volcanoes National Park.

If you arrive early, you’ll enjoy a guided Kigali city tour, including visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, the national museum, and local markets, followed by lunch in the city. Afterward, continue your journey to Ruhengeri (Musanze), the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.

After an early breakfast at your hotel, you’ll set out for an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Volcanoes National Park. You’ll first report to the park headquarters for an important briefing before being assigned a gorilla group and heading into the forest.

If lucky, you’ll quickly locate the mountain gorillas and spend a magical one hour observing these peaceful giants in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.

In the afternoon, you may choose to visit the scenic twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo Twin Lakes or take a community walk around nearby villages to interact with locals and learn about their way of life. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and a restful evening.

After an early breakfast, you’ll head to Volcanoes National Park for an exciting golden monkey tracking experience. Following a briefing, you’ll enter the forest to come face-to-face with these lively primates as they leap playfully from branch to branch—an unforgettable highlight of your safari.

After the trek, drive back to Kigali for a short city tour and a visit to local craft shops where you can pick up souvenirs. Later, continue to the airport for your departure flight, bidding farewell to Rwanda with lasting memories of your adventure.
