3-Day Volcanoes Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking

Upon arrival, a Kyooma Gorilla Safaris representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to Volcanoes National Park, where you’ll prepare for your golden monkey trekking adventure the following day.

If time allows, you’ll also enjoy a short city tour exploring the charm of Kigali before settling in and relaxing ahead of your safari experience.

Start your day with an early breakfast before transferring to Volcanoes National Park for a briefing ahead of your golden monkey trekking adventure.

You’ll then head into the bamboo forests to track these lively Albertine Rift endemics, spending one memorable hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and unwind.

Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Optional: In the evening, you may explore cultural experiences around Musanze, including a visit to Gorilla Guardians Village, where you can learn about local traditions, music, and heritage.

Begin your day with an early breakfast at your lodge before driving to Volcanoes National Park headquarters to meet your guides and receive a briefing.

You’ll then set off on an exciting trek through high-altitude mountain forests in search of mountain gorillas. The hike can take 2 to 6 hours depending on their location and weather conditions, making every trek a unique adventure.

Once you find the gorilla family, you’ll spend one unforgettable hour observing them closely and learning about their behavior, family dynamics, and personalities. After this incredible experience, you’ll return to Kigali, bringing your safari to a memorable close.
