4-Day Rwanda & Uganda Budget Tour

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed and briefed by your guide from Wagatil Safaris.

If time allows, enjoy an optional city tour in Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial or a stop at a local market for cultural interaction and souvenirs. After lunch, begin your scenic drive north to Musanze, the gateway to Volcanoes National Park.

Along the way, take in Rwanda’s iconic rolling hills and rural landscapes. Upon arrival, check in at your budget lodge, relax, and prepare for the unforgettable gorilla trekking experience ahead.

Wake up early and proceed to Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing before your gorilla trekking adventure.

You will hike through misty forests and bamboo-covered slopes in search of a habituated gorilla family. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, transfer to Uganda via the Cyanika border crossing. Enjoy scenic views of the Virunga volcanic ranges and the Kigezi Highlands along the way as you continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving in time to relax at your lodge.

After breakfast, you will head to the park office of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a second gorilla trekking experience.

Bwindi’s dense rainforest is home to several habituated gorilla families, and today you will track a different group. The trek can be physically demanding due to steep and muddy terrain, but the experience is highly rewarding. Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat.

In the afternoon, you may relax at your lodge or take an optional community walk to meet the Batwa people, learning about their traditions, culture, and deep connection to the forest.

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast, then begin your scenic journey back to Kigali through the lush hills of southwestern Uganda.

The drive offers stunning views of terraced farms, forested mountains, and scenic lakes as you make your way toward the border. After crossing back into Rwanda, continue through its clean and well-organized countryside toward the capital.

Upon arrival in Kigali, your guide will drop you at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport depending on your departure schedule, marking the end of your unforgettable cross-border safari experience.
