4-Day Volcaones Gorilla Trekking and Kigali City Tour

Upon arrival, you’ll transfer to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 2–3 hour drive through Rwanda’s beautiful “Land of a Thousand Hills.” Known as a premier gorilla sanctuary, the park boasts incredible biodiversity and breathtaking landscapes.

On arrival, check in at your lodge and relax as you prepare for the next day’s forest adventure. If time allows, you may opt for a guided walk to visit the scenic Burera and Ruhondo Twin Lakes.

Start your day early and head to the Kinigi park headquarters by 7:00 am for a briefing and to meet your fellow trekkers. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is generally less strenuous compared to other destinations, and you’ll be guided by experienced rangers through the forest.

Once you locate the gorillas, you’ll have a magical one hour to observe and photograph them in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation.

In the afternoon, visit the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Centre for an enriching experience of Rwanda’s culture and history. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Today, you will transfer to Kigali for an overnight stay, with a guided city tour en route. Kigali is widely regarded as one of Africa’s cleanest and most organized cities, having transformed significantly over the past few decades. Its impressive development is driven by strong governance, community spirit, and initiatives such as Umuganda, which promote cleanliness and social responsibility.

During the tour, you will visit some of Kigali’s key landmarks and gain insight into the city’s history, resilience, and rapid growth before continuing to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
