5-Day Rwanda Nyungwe Forest National Park Adventure

Early morning, you will enjoy your buffet breakfast, check out of the hotel, and drive to the western province. On your way, you'll visit the Royal Palace Museum and the Ethnographic Museum in the Southern Province. This will give you a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of Kingship, with an en route lunch. You will arrive at Nyungwe National Park in the afternoon. You'll spend the afternoon at your leisure. Your dinner and overnight stay will be at Nyungwe Top View Hill Hotel.

Today, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will leave your hotel to experience the natural forest of Nyungwe, known for having 13 species of primates, and be transferred to the park for briefing and chimpanzee trekking. You will be entitled to one hour to find the chimpanzees. After the chimpanzee trek, you'll head for lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70-meter-suspended metallic bridge will give you an excellent overview of Nyungwe Forest. On a lucky day, you can spot one or two more primates in the forest as you take a walk on this bridge. Later, you'll return to the hotel.

After your morning breakfast, you will head to the park for a briefing before you search for the colobus monkeys. On finding them, you will be allowed to take as many pictures as you wish. You'll return for lunch. After lunch, you'll head for the tea plantation visit to visit the Gisakura tea gardens and learn how tea goes from planting to harvesting and processing. You will take great photos. Later, you'll drive back to your lodge for dinner.

After a relaxed morning breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Kivu to catch up with the beautiful sunrise over Lake Kivu after finishing your morning breakfast. You will explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. You have a nature walk at one of the islands within this lake, known for harboring thousands of bats. This lake is also known as a birding paradise as it hosts several bird species like the cormorant, pied kingfishers, weaver birds, and herons, to mention but a few.

After breakfast, you will spend your leisure time at Lake Kivu swimming. After lunch, you'll drive back to Kigali. You'll be dropped off at either the airport or your hotel. This will mark the end of your trip with Blue Monkey Tours.
