Overview
This safari goes to Tsavo west country, which is a relatively hilly and has wild dogs, thousands of elephants and all the other big five animals. You will then transfer to Amboseli National Park which is indeed a reserve that overlooks Mt. Kilimanjaro, a reserve that is perfect for photography. You will have a good experience in sighting big elephant families and other animals like lion, cheetah and hyenas.

Itinerary
Travel by road to Tsavo west takes 5 hours- this is a large park of over 7000sq.km of ,woodland, Savannah and river region hosting many species of animals and birds,elephants, leopard,cheetah,wild dogs,crocodiles and many more. Bear in mind that you will be accommodated at the Kilaguni Lodge which is situated inside the park and overlooks its own floodlit water hole that is frequented by the likes of elephants, buffalos and most of the plains game. There are some additional facilities like a swimming pool and the rooms are all inclusive with breathtaking views. In the afternoon, there will be a late afternoon game drive where you will be taken to Mzima Springs to have a nature trail here you will be privileged to see hippos and Nile crocodiles plus many species of birds. You will then go back to Kilaguni for dinner before spending the evening observing wild animals coming for water at the watering point. The next day will be devoted to game drives within the park with all meals at the lodge.

Proceed to Tsavo West (5 hours drive), one of Kenya’s largest parks covering 7,000sq.km of fantastic topography and teeming with wildlife such as elephants, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, birds of 600 species.
Spend your nights at Kilaguni Lodge that overlooks a watering hole which attracts elephants, buffalos and other animals. The lodge offers comfortable en-suite rooms, great views, and a swimming pool.
In the afternoon, go for a game drive, and in the evening visit Mzima Springs where you extend a short nature trail to view hippos, Nile crocodiles and different types of birds. Return to the lodge for dinner with possible game viewing at the waterhole in the evening. :The following day is spent doing game drives in Tsavo West with accommodation and meals taken at the lodge.

In the morning you will go to Amboseli National Park (2hrs), it is a great park with beautiful views of Kilimanjaro and you can expect to get close with Elephants here! Savannah and woodlands and swamps and wet lands are some of the areas of habitat found in Amboseli and due to these diverse areas Amboseli has so many species of birds not less then 600, big cats and other very many species of mammel’s including big five. Lunch will be at Kibo tented camp,dinner is placed just outside the park, each sleeps four, has a bedroom, en suite toilet and shower and is enclosed by canvas walls. The camp has several amenities for clients which includes a restaurant for meals, aibar, a swimming pool for relaxation, miniature art gallery and boutique.

After breakfast, spend about 2 hours driving to Amboseli National Park with magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro and elephants. Amboseli has diverse ecosystems: savannah, woodland, swamps and wetlands offering a rich bird diversity of 400 plus species, Big Cats and The Big Five.
Lunch at Kibo Tented Camp which is located just outside the park. The guests will find a comfortable bed, stone floor, and canvas walls in a large en-suite tent. There is a dining hall for the campers, bar, swimming pool, art gallery and even a shop where souvenirs can be bought, making the camp comfortable.

The 5-Day Tsavo West & Amboseli Safari is a tour perfectly combining different terrains while observing unique wildlife. Tsavo West has landscapes, lava formations, amazing features, wildlife, such as elephants, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles at Mzima Springs among others. In Amboseli you will be able to see Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and get close contact with the large herds of elephants as well as lions, cheetahs and many kinds of birds. You should look forward to game drives and breathtaking views, great accommodation, and good food.
The distance between Nairobi and Tsavo West is approximately 5 hours by road while from Tsavo West to Amboseli is about 2-3 hours. Though the drives are as picturesque with savannahs and rolling hills, the safari cars are quite comfortable and prepared to make your drive easier.
Some of the animals that are found in the Tsavo West are the red elephants, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, crocodiles, buffalos and over 600 bird species. You can also go to Mzima Springs where these hippos and these Nile crocodiles are also found in clear waters.
These include; luxury accommodation to budget bandas inside or close to the parks. Some lodges in Tsavo West, for example, Kilaguni Serena Lodge, provide panoramic views of watering slots where game is always found. In Amboseli, options such as Kibo Tented Camp has comfortable accommodation that includes bed and bath, swimming pool, and meals.
It is also a perfect season for witnessing wildlife at water sources since animals converge in large numbers in search of water thus making it the best time for visiting Tsavo West & Amboseli Safari. During the wet, the terrain is green, and there are relatively few tourists; however, trails may get slippery and animals less concentrated. To get the best view of the Mount Kilimanjaro, you will have to go early in the morning in the dry season especially in the early morning when there are no clouds.
Light and looser clothes, a hat, sunglasses, sun block for the game viewing in the parks and nature walks. Some clothes that maybe useful for the safari include a warm jacket for early morning and evening game viewing. Never go without binoculars for better wildlife spotting, a camera for great photo opportunities as well as insect repellent. During the rainy season, it is advised to carry an umbrella and wear boots.
