Itinerary
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and you will set off in a comfortable 4x4 pop up safari vehicle from Nairobi to the beautiful Mara North Conservancy. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley, with its sweeping landscapes and ever changing scenery, as you pass through vibrant Kenyan towns and villages.
You will travel through Narok, a hub of Maasai culture, before the landscape gradually opens into wide savannah plains leading toward the Mara. Arriving in time for lunch, you will enjoy your first glimpses of wildlife en route to Karen Blixen Camp. After lunch and a short rest, head out for an exciting afternoon game drive to begin your safari adventure.

As night falls, prepare for an exciting nocturnal game drive. In the darkness, every sound feels closer and the thrill of spotting wildlife intensifies. Predators such as big cats and hyenas become active, and with a bit of luck, you may even encounter the rare striped hyena. Other nocturnal creatures like aardwolves, aardvarks, caracals, and owls may also reveal themselves under the night sky.

For a truly unforgettable experience, you may opt for an early morning balloon safari at an additional cost. Float gently above the plains as the sun rises, taking in sweeping views of the landscape and herds below, before landing for a special champagne bush breakfast.
Another unique option is a guided horseback safari, allowing you to get closer to wildlife from a different perspective. Animals are often more relaxed around horses, creating a rare and memorable encounter.

The drive is scenic, passing through the dramatic landscapes of the Great Rift Valley before giving way to rolling hills and open plains. Along the way, you will pass through local towns, offering a glimpse into everyday life, as the terrain gradually becomes more rugged approaching the conservancy.
Once a cattle ranch, Ol Pejeta was transformed into a renowned wildlife conservancy and is now one of the leading rhino sanctuaries in Kenya. It is also home to a chimpanzee sanctuary established in 1993, and famously protects the last remaining northern white rhinos. The area is rich in wildlife, including reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, and many other iconic species.
After lunch and some time to relax, head out for an afternoon game drive. As evening falls, prepare for an exciting nocturnal game drive, when the bush comes alive in a completely different way. You may spot hippos grazing on land, hear the sounds of the wild intensify, and witness predators like big cats on the hunt under the cover of darkness.
