3-Day Rwanda Gorilla Expedition Safari

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you and begin your 3-day Rwanda gorilla tour. You will first head into Kigali for a short city tour and lunch, visiting key cultural and historical sites, including the Kigali Genocide Memorial.

After lunch, you will begin your journey northwest toward Volcanoes National Park for the gorilla trekking experience. The drive takes approximately two hours through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills and scenic countryside. By sunset, you will arrive at your lodge, check in, and relax in preparation for the adventure ahead.

Main Destination: Ruhengeri

After breakfast, your driver-guide will transfer you to the Kinigi park headquarters for a briefing by the park warden on the rules and guidelines for gorilla trekking in Rwanda. By around 8:30 am, you will be assigned a gorilla family and escorted by a park ranger guide to the starting point of your trek.

You will receive essential gear such as walking sticks and rain jackets if needed before setting off into the dense forest with experienced trackers and rangers. The duration and difficulty of the trek vary depending on the location of the gorilla family and may take anywhere from one to several hours through steep and forested terrain.

Once you locate the gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat.

This morning, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight. Depending on your flight schedule, your driver-guide may also take you to souvenir shops for some last-minute craft shopping before your departure.
